LD players have shoved me a couple times when I shot at the goal, I'm assuming it was supposed to be an attempt to make me miss or something to make it harder, but both times I ended up a player's-length closer to the goal and the goalie had even less time to try to block :roflol:

Ohhh, and that Yooyu ball template is neat, but since I'm horrible at trying to do that stuff (also, not having a good image program doesn't help :P), I'll just suggest one for someone to work on, hehe

Angel/Demon Yooyu balls - Both rare, usually one of them will show up only once a game. Both balls have average speed and no curvature. The Angel ball has a 50% chance of scoring 2 goals for your team(If it doesn't score 2, it will still score 1). The Demon ball has a 50% chance of lowering your opponents score by 1(you still gain 1 goal either way).

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!1 on my 1st run to the 9-0, my last ball was... faerie  Can anyone guess what my total of goals with that §@€@£ faerie ball was? that's right:ONE! (and i didn't know how...) total: 8-1 at 0:01secs

As promised, though a little later than anticipated, here is my strategy for working with the faerie yooyu. I can get it in about 9 out of 10 times. :)

Let the other team take it first (they usually pass to the side, to "my right" if I am moving from left to right) then go ahead and steal it from them (3-1 formation best for this I find). Once you grab the yooyu make a sharp turn in toward the center of the field; then quickly another sharp right angle straight toward the goalie; get just close enough and shoot face on.

Incase anyone wants another Faerieball strategy........lol
I just randomly tried this, and it seems to work well, it just goes right into the corner like snow/fire/mutant. You come in at that angle in pink, then turn and shoot in the green line. The Goalie will be running toward the center of the goal if you're going into the center, so he leaves the corner open.

I find that using the triangle in the goal is a good way to find the "sweet spots" I mentioned earlier. I'm off of my rageaholic, obsessive attitude and back to the fun me who tries to give advive. Anyway, The big triangle in front of the goal, use the tip as the first reference and the angle where the first triangle ends and second begins. It makes a sort of crosshair. But the positioning is funny, you have to have an exact player position and it will curve just inside the goal post. It seems like it would be hard even for our friend Super Goalie, but I've tried it on him.

Also, a win is a win. Goals may count, but not submitting a score can't be seen as helpful. I submitted two 5-1 wins, they might not be my best, but wins also count for something. I don't know which has more weight, but I'd assume wins.

Can anyone explain why I have visions of me commiting random acts of violence against a red Lutari with a bad hair piece and lots of souvenirs?

I may have been a bit harsh on myself, but the key thing is that I exploded all those bottled up emotions that made me go off the handle on people. But just because I'm not militant doesn't mean I've lost faith/confidence in Darigan Citadel. Anyone else notice how fitting the match-ups are for this round? Random my keester!

I'm a little disappointed now. I joined Krawk Island becasue they beat me in the first round but they are up against Mystery Island now and i'm pretty sure we may lose. Mystery Island seems to have alot of support!

How exactly did you do that? Cause every time you score a goal, it takes 9 seconds between scoring and getting the ball back on the field... so you've already lost 8 * 9 seconds = 72 seconds, so that gives you a maximum of 1:48 left, without even having time to score a goal... So that means your time left is either a bug or miss-viewing a 1:05 or something :)

And also: care to tell us how you managed to get past the super-goalie? Not that those extra goals count apparently, but it would be nice to know how it is possible to get past him...

this had nothing to do with faerieballs, but somehow I was down 4-1 with 30 seconds left. I miraculously scored three goals before time ran out for a tie. on the finish screen it said "...too bad nobody managed to score any points." That would mean that ties don't give you any points, unlike some other sports.

Shadow_Twisted, don't be so hard on yourself. Yeah, the bragging and intimidation were annoying, but nobody thought you were a bad person. :) And thanks for another faerie ball strategy! I've scored with that ball a couple times, but I find when I do, it's mostly random luck. ;)

I've gotten 10 wins for Roo tonight, and I'm getting better at the game and scoring more goals per game than I did in round one. I'm going to try to get at least 10 wins per night for this round. I figure that's enough that I'll be helping out my team, but not enough to drive me insane (I can't play for long before I get bored/annoyed).

Lost Desert guys are a little tougher than the Tyrannians. They move faster (still not as fast as my Roos, though; I always get to the ball first at "kickoff"), and they shove me around more. The goalkeeper also seems quicker. They've scored on me a couple times with the faerie ball, something the Tyrannian CPU players never did.

Using the faerieball is just a knack, you have to get quite close, directly in fron of the goalie and relatively near the centre of the goal. Then click the goalie. Yay you scored!

As for these Angel Demon balls, haven't seen them at all!

And I dont think this round is any harder than the last, sure I've had a few unfortunate 9-1 rounds, usually when they send the fire ball straight down the middle at the beginning, I'm useless at stopping that...

here are the tournament dates..

Round: 1
8/6/06 - 11/6/06

Round: 2
15/6/06 - 18/6/06

Round: 3
22/6/06 - 25/6/06

Round: 4
29/6/06 - 2/7/06

on this page... http://www.neopets.com/altador/colosseum/rules.phtml

they did the dates backward.... (right?) shouldnt it be ending 7/2/06 not 2/7/06 ?

The way they have it written is actually standard date format (like writting 15 June 2006). Only Canada, Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, Philippines, and the United States write it as 6/15/06.

Nope, not Canadians (at least, not that we were taught in school). We do it with the day first.... Of course you can imagine that it causes some confusion for those of us who live close to the border... In fact, I've taken to writing out the month (15 June 2006), because it was just too confusing...

The supergoalie is when you get nine goals in the other teams keeper becomes almost impossable to get past.

Ah thanks, never noticed that. I hit 9 goals about every third game, but never with very much time left so far.

*edit* Ok, I noticed now, he stopped about 5 shots in very quick succession that he otherwise never would have.

On another note, is it just me or have the effects of the snow and fire balls increased in intensity? The fire balls seem particulary fast when shot (very useful) and the snow balls very slow.

Also, has anyone ever noticed any 'bad effect' from holding a fire ball too long?

And a thank you to Shadow for the Faerieland banner =D

Hum, I like that ball, but will probably HATE to play with it! ;)

as for the angel/demon, that would definitely add some kind of randomness in the scores, wich is not bad, not that I'm complaining at all, but this game can become quite easy after some time, I would not say boring, but quite repetitive :P I for one do hope there will be some kind of improvement from the computer teams as tournament went on!

And yes, I think at least the fire ball is faster than it was, as I said before, it's the only ball the computer can score with, when they shout from afar, I dont have time to swich back to my goalie to get it!!!! Well, I've never lost since the tournament began, but it's still anoying that I haven't find the parade now!
