I know I should be in the shop, but it just did a restock. I thought the Round didn't end for 1 week, when did tonight become a deadline? In any case, as spoonguardonline had predicted, I DO in fact have over 100 wins, but if I don't work today, I'll see that number grow.

Well I can still submit scores, but according to the News the deadline was midnight tonight, just over 1/2 hour ago now. But many details have been elusive or inaccurate. Maybe we can submit until they update the News?

The article said week long Rounds, but I was sort of assuming since it started on Thursday going to Sunday, that the next Monday to Wednesday would be the "stating of scores, and switching of teams/practicing" time.

I understand the logic, weekends only for play, but school's out so people are going to be more active. Poor me, I'm an adult with a job that sucks and I have to go in and actually do my job to get a paycheck. Adulthood isn't fun!

EDIT: Adulthood REALLY SUCKS! I found out I work an afternno shift today 2-10P which means I have to get some sleep soon, so less shop time.

Scores are still sending for me, too. Not sure how much I like that, as I just got my worst score ever, a 4-3 that I barely eked out a win on. (Stupid faerie balls...) Of course I followed it up with a 9-0, but that's the first time they've scored 3 on me :-(

From Neopets News - June 9th:

Kick-Off! - Round one of the Altador Cup starts now! Get out on the field and do your best for your team. This first round ends Sunday, 11th June at Midnight NST. Good Luck! (And don't forget to read the Tournament Updates!)

EDIT: Well, if scores are sending, I'll increase my wins then.... currently at 78. (78-0-0)

Funny you mention. I could have sworn the skill level of the other team seemed a little higher just after midnight here. I shall try a few more games before sleep. Anyone else notice? I wonder ... oh how evil of them.

Don't give us a chance to get past super goalie, but make it harder.

Because people can send loses or they can just press "Play Again". Which will make the honest people get screwed. I mean I lost once and I submitted it (evil faerie ball).

(In advance, I know these numbers won't be correct)

My point is, a popular place like Darigan because of the evil(awesome)ness, is going to draw a high number of people, so let's say there are 5,000 supporters for them. But there are places with few die-hard fans, like Krawk Island. What if there are only 200 people supporting them? Even if all 200 of those people got 6 wins, it wouldn't be enough if all 5,000 Darigan supporters sent in 1 win each. It wouldn't make sense to force a team with less supporters to spent a significant amount of time more to try and catch up.

This is why I say it really doesn't matter (at first) so it seems, especially if one can switch teams inbetween Rounds, until finals. For instance, and I do NOT recommend this, but I did try to see if I could still play on and for other teams and still submit "wins" as a test only (!)

I can in fact play as Jelly World against Jelly World (yes it is a little confusing but it can be done) :P and found I could submit a "win." This still misleads me. Something in me tells me TNT is not counting score this way. At least not entirely. Either that, or worst case scenario is that they may *still* not have all the bugs worked out, and if so curse them for starting Round One on a weekend when they can't be around fully to devote proper attention to fixing all that before the next Round starts.

I don't know how they are doing it, for all we know it could be very much random with the guise of our efforts actually being "worth" something.

EDIT: On that note, the article does state all participants will be awarded something. :)

EDIT 2: And if they ever try to accuse me of cheating, you can all back me up right? We all know Jelly World does not exist anyway! ;) :D

Not everywhere, it isn't. In England, we're still going, until mid-July - although not me, because I leave on Friday after my last exam!

And I doubt very much that TNT would say midnight on Sunday if they didn't mean it, or if they meant next week. I think we'll see either an ending or an explanation in Monday's news.

School doesn't get out for me until Tuesday next week, and that, along with making banners, has hindered me from playing. So far I only have 12 wins

Maybe every round it gets harder. That'd be an awesome twist! :)

Yeah, playing probably will get harder as it goes along. I would think so, anyway.

I'm actually having a lot of fun with this. I think I prefer something like this to the wars or plots.

It matters most in the first round because the most teams will be eliminated now, so all of the unevenly matched teams(i.e. Darigan vs. Terror Mountain), who have significantly more supporters on one side, wouldn't have a fair chance of moving on to the next round.

If I chose Terror Mountain, I'd want them to go to the finals because I'd get a better prize for not having to pick a new team. So if it were the case where you got a great prize for choosing a team from the beginning that wins the Altador Cup(which we have stipulated is the case), then, theoretically, couldn't most Neopians have gotten together and chosen 1 team to support to all get the best prize?

Mon Jun 12, 2006 6:42 pm

I'm (relatively) sure TNT isn't stupid enough to base this on sheer number of wins alone, because then obviously the most popular teams are going to advance. I expect they have some kind of formula that incorporates wins, goals scored, and number of players on each team to determine rank. It would not be very difficult to do.

Edit: Unless they want the most popular teams to advance, which is certainly possible, too.
