Yeah I concur *puts away thesaurus*

Why don't the rest of my players move around while I am controlling someone else? Makes it very hard to pass the ball around.

It just doesn't :P

Yeah obviusly this game isn't tremendously advanced, but it's easy enough to score (and a lot faster) if you just take one player the whole way.. (for me anyway)

The shift key will move your unselected players into their starting position, which is useful if you have them bunched somewhere and need them to move without selecting and unselecting each individually. Space just unselects the player you're using. That's all you need.

Hey hrm, this may be useful to me. But what is the point of unselecting the player you are using? Then does that mean no one moves until you put that mouse over a player again? I always thought I was very good with a mouse (or maybe I just suck that much more with a keyboard).

I don't use the space bar often, but when I first began playing I kept accidentally selecting the wrong player with my mouse, and by the time I managed to move my mouse into position to select the right player, I had moved the wrongly selected player all over into weird places. Easier to unselect :P

And what is wrong with my quotes???

You can draw on your LCD monitor screen with this stylus.
Sure wish I had $3K to play the Altador Cup. :P

There has been a bug or something that set the "automatically disable BBCode" or something like that on in your profile, so if you change it there, you'll be able to quote again :)

The only thing I have about BBCode in my profile is "Always allow BBCode:" and it's set on yes. And my checks on my reply options are all set too. The only thing that seems to set it right is taking the name out of quote code. Every other code I use seems to work fine.

{EDIT}: Holy mongoose, all my quotes worked. Woot!

I use the full width of my screen. Just stick:

In your full screen window, modifying the teams as appropriate. This makes a lot of difference at first, when you're trying to work out mouse control. I should have mentioned this before.:P

I also don't bother with space bar any more. I just use Shift a lot (whenever I lose possession or I think one of my players might be getting in the way) and my normal run-of-the-mill £10 wired optical mouse.

You don't really need to pass the ball around. Once you take possession just head up for a shot.

anjuna wrote:Feel free to laugh at my most kittens question thus far. How come I can't GET the ball and how come all it does is get stolen from me? Embarassed

If I "bump into" the ball on accident sometimes I get it, usually not. And if I do accidentally get it, I lose it so fast of course I can do nothing with it.

You take possession by approaching the opponent player that has the ball from the front, or as close as possible. Some teams are better at tackling, and have a larger 'working tackle angle' if you like, so they are more likely to be able to tackle from the side. If you're finding it hard to tackle try another team. According to my notes so far Altador is pretty good at tackling, but is a little fast, which won't help... so try Kreludor, which also has good tackling (at least in my tests so far, which has included v Jelly).

Has anyone seen the contents of the Altador Cup Souvenirs Shop? I can't even take a glimpse of what they are selling... Aww.. Is it activated already?

For the game, I think they are better if you can see tha actual names of the players that are playing and you can switch players on and off the bench...

And maybe they can change the graphics after every goal made. Im sick of seeing Volgoth every time.

Oh... I chose to support MI coz I like the Miami Heat... where Volgoth gets to play Shaq's part and Teylor Nix is The WADE... Ooops... Ive gone to far... sorry... :)

MI: Mission Impossible!!!

I am starting to think the key may be in the wavy, loopy mouse movements one can get easier with the "regular" and optical mouses (again is it mice? or mices? in the computer world lol). With a trackball my movements tend to go in straight diagonal lines, thereby interfering with any other players in the way. I use this kind of mouse because yes I do have multiple permanent RSI and worse injuries in my arms so I move my hand muscles while enabling my arm and elbows to be steady. However, I think for this type of gaming a "regular" mouse is better, then one can move the arm/mouse around players, of course, directing it to where it is important and missing the other players to as not to affect them. I think I might try either a tablet/stylus or a different mouse.

Well I heard someone claim "advantage." :P So gave me ideas, and I just notice more about how I work with a trackball versus a regular mouse.

I assume if you can "draw" a loopy, wavy path, it hits less players in the "trail" of that, for with my trackball I tend to zoom in diagonal lines.
