Please... getting desperate here.
I don't want to miss out on anything, and I'm not sure where else to post, and have been trying to get this spellbook for a very, very long time.
Altered the URL, clicked on all books (unless I'm missing some secret spot) so so many times... and have still not gotten it.
On, um, this link: http://hacks.atrus.org/neopets/findConstellations.fcgi it says my room is 18, 9, but still nothing.
I don't know what to do, and I'm so very frustrated and I tried contacting someone about it, but they didn't respond for a while, so I went offline for an hour or two to tend to real life, and I still haven't figured it out.
Please, please, can someone help me?

A reminder: make sure you've clicked on the flames in the book before looking for the spellbook.
I checked the room with my spellbook and one of the rooms next door and both had 31 books to try. If you're using Firefox you can View>Page Info and click on the Links tab to get a listing of every link on the page (hover to see the complete url, you can copy by right-clicking). I've also heard about hitting tab, but that never worked for me.

ummmm...not all the books in your chosen room are the spellbook, each room has like 30 fake ones. I counted.

Okay, now the plot is over I'm going to sit on this thread and help everyone who's still stuck.
THE TABBING TRICK TO FIND YOUR SPELLBOOK
Highlight a few letters from the words 'Altadorian Archives' with your mouse. That just tells the browser where you want to start looking for links from. Then, press the tab key on your keyboard (the one above Caps Lock). Each press of Tab will move the browser's attention to the next link in the picture. The first three or four will be the doors of the room you're in, and after that you should start to see 'read-book' in the URL in the status bar at the bottom of the screen (View - Status Bar if it's off). When you see 'read-book', hit Enter and it will take you to that first book link. If that's not the spellbook, hit Back on your browser and start again, beginning by highlighting the letters and so forth. This time, go one link further (so go to the second 'read-book' link). And keep going, counting in your head while you're tabbing, until you've found the spellbook (or gone through every 'read-book' link in the room).
Mine was the eleventh book I tabbed to, but there are 31 books in the room to try.
Anyone else online now and needing help?

wow that's nice of you I just used firefox and opened up links in new tabs so i could open up an entire room before looking to see if i found the book.

If you're sure about the room co-ords and you've checked every book, you must have missed one of the steps leading up to that point.
What does the Archivist say if you go and talk to him? Have you read the book and clicked on the pic of the Darkest Faerie's flames?

I don't know what the problem is. I'm 95 % sure I've got every book there is, and I've retried the Hunter's constellation (or of what I can retry) and...

Have you tried using the Avant browser with the 'open all links on this page' function? It's a surefire way to know you haven't missed a book.

I'm in the same situation as well. I listened to the archivist after clocking on the flame, my coordinates said my spellbook was in room 12, 12, I'm clicking all the shelfs,but no book.

Yeah.
As burntouttrash says, you could try a different browser - Avant and Firefox both apparently have functions to open all links.
This might sound really obvious, but are you sure you have the x and y co-ords the right way round? The first number on Atrus' page should be after 'arcx' in the room URL, and the second number should be after 'arcy'.

Running out of ideas...
Tried returning to the telescope to refresh your star data and then tried Atrus again? It's a long shot, but the only other suggestion I can make is go right back through all the Hunter steps and click all the continue buttons again.

If nothing works then I think your only option is to try all the possible multiples-of-three rooms one by one in Avant... I did this (I found my book before the DF constellation method was discovered) and it took me a few hours :/ but I can't think of anything else you could do if nothing is working.
