Avant lets you open up every link on a page at the same time, it means you can select every book in the room at one time.

Other browsers have the option to install the function as an extra but avant has it inbuilt.

People on the neoboards are getting rather worked up about it, saying its cheating. Although its opening windows you would be opening anyway so it's not like you're deliberately getting more page views than you would have done and giving yourself an advantage....

But if you're worried I wouldn't use it.

it has a option when you right click to open all the links in tabs

My Theory:

I suspect that since the spellbook was found (9x12) in the archives as directed by the Archivist... and since his message hasn't changed after the discovery of the spellbook... there's STILL something left to do first. Random spells won't do anything right now until we find out what that is...

[/delurking]

But also he doesn't actually state that we need to get a book, just to look for the spell
"He shakes his head. "Of course, there are thousands of spellbooks in there... tens or hundreds of thousands, perhaps. I wouldn't know where to begin to find the proper spell. Finding the coordinates for the correct room, just searching randomly, would be... madness of some kind."

You think maybe it's like the Collector's plot? Maybe we should be refreshing the magic shop looking for a spell to pop up...

I think theres definitely either something we're missing, OR something that hasnt been released yet. I really dont think they expect us to search ALL the rooms and ALL the spells. Theres a clue somewhere, (or will be a clue somewhere) that will lead us to the correct room, and the right spell.

I totally agree with this. If the archivist says not to go randomly then there must be a way to know where to go.

^^ We had to find the multiples of three clue on our own... makes me think we're on our own on this one too :(

How exactly did we find the multiples of three clue?? Where was it??

Fri Jun 02, 2006 5:26 pm

It's probably a thief type situation, everyones going crazy looking for it and when it actually comes out it'll be really obvious.

*shakes head*

But I need to finish it TONIGHT or I won't get my dissertation done.

Found it at 9-12, book 6. It's actually rather fast with the tabbing method in IE.

I think it was discovered just by comparing notes with the people who'd found their books already. It just happened to always be in a multiple of three.

But you also gotta remember that if you open up all books at the same time, the Neopets boards could understand that as you using a cheat program due to getting alot of hits from your IP in a very small amount of time.

I mentioned that before as a warning earlier because 4 years on my first month on Neopets, I was frozen because I had my finger on the F5 button and kept it there, just being stupid, and then next thing I knew, I was frozen. The explaination given to me was too many hits from my IP to the Neopets website. Nothing I said made them want to unfreeze me. Of course back then, TNT was freeze happy but I figured I'll mention this anyways.

Right...but whats to say there wasnt a clue? I mean just because we got lucky and found our books, doesnt mean that there wasnt a clue...

Possibly... if you want to get cerebral about it the first half of the Hunter's constellation had only three stars at first. Three! :D

Or that there isn't going to be a clue in the future. It could be that althought the book can be found maybe the clue for it hasn't been released, hence why the spell can't be found.

The fact that decimals can be used too kind of puts a dampener on the whole "searching through them all" plan.

All the books found so far have been rin rooms that are multiples of three, starting with 6, so you have 6x6, 6x9, 9x6, and so on up to 21x21.

As for the books themselves, I found mine on a multiple of 3. Mine was room 18x12, book 24. You can input the room numbers into the url at the arcx=xx&arcy=yy positions (xx and yy being the input number).

Once you find it, you should write down the location, as you'll have to find it again to input the spell numbers.

What do you mean by book 24? Do they all have numbers? :o

True. I think back to the Lost Desert Plot where few people noticed the Yurble Chef's painted toenails that hinted at the sequence of colors in which to read the scrolls.

So far, I haven't seen anything useful like numbers written on the Archivist's pinions. ;)

Not that I've looked too hard, though.
