You cast spell number 42.
Your skin cycles through a dozen random shades before settling back down to its normal colour.

Made it to my spell book with the help of you kind folks here posting solutions. Had a few glitches along the way but re-visiting places took care of that. Now for these spells...has anyone thought to look around Altador for a clue on the spell #? Haven't seen anything on this yet. I'm going to go have a look around.

Interesting thing about spell "numbers":
Spell 1a1 works. So does 1b1, and they're exactly the same, as with 1c1, etc. It says you cast spell 1, though, but it's not the same as spell 1. Nor is it the same as spell 11, or spell 101.
Edit: scratch that, it
is the same as spell 1. Sticking a letter in there just cuts off everything after it. A
decimal point, though...

Thinking of finding clues....
Has there been any hint of how we are actually supposed to find the spell book. Random searching is, as the lenny predicted, still driving me insane.
Just the 3,X 9,X 12,X 15,X and 18/Xs to go!

I know this is way behind everyone's times, but I honestly can't get the hunter to align correctly... I have all of the stars (I think... o.O), but any way I connect them, or DON'T connect them, doesn't seem to please the telescope. Can someone help?

Someone's already tried 1-200.
And if it's random for everyone, it can't be that, since it's the same for everyone.

I'm glad TNT took the liberty to make the end of this plot as frustrating as possible, that being said, there has to be SOME clue to the number of spell this could be, then again, were there any clues that led to the discovery of the spellbook in the archives? or were people actually searching through every room like madmen?

The walk-through says that the "notches" on the celing are able to be seen, but when I put a rock in a gear, the place where I see the three dots doesn't move at all. Does that mean some of the gear don't make it move at all? I'm confused.
Are you clicking the sun button?
Am I supposed to after each rock I put into a gear?
Yes. You need to test each gear to see how far it moves the ceiling. Read back in the thread, it's been explained more fully elsewhere.
Deathcraze- try going back to the HoH, Janitor, Archivist etc and refreshing at the quarry. It took a while to show up for me too.
You're supposed to press the sun button?! I've been putting rocks into gears and dashing up to the observatory for an hour *face-palm*

I have a small question. Can they catch you using Avant Browser to open all links in different windows? I remember they said you could get frozen for using Opera to open 100 windows and click "Refresh All," but isn't this close to the same thing?
