Constellation FINALLY found!

Now on to rifling through books even though I should really get some sleep.

ok a lil help please, I got 3 stones from the quarry and I am jamming the gears, but I can't fully open up half of it to see the constallation. help a lil like screenies or somethng please?

There was a screenie a few pages back in this thread (try page 5?). Basically, you want the right half to be open as much as possible; if it opens the left half, move that rock. I had the ceiling open in one window and the basement in another; after each rock placement, I refreshed the ceiling image to see what it did.

I found mine, but it's not working. Did you do the lines a certain way?

Thanks digitel and siniri. I had used the star mapper but then didn't connect the stars right; got it now

It looks like an arrow.

Oddly, I did not have to attach the two side thingys...mine just looked like an arrow, not a BOW and arrow. Hard to explain. The three dots close to each other...hang on...I'm going to try and make an image.

Connect the four in a row in a chain (1-2, 2-3, 3-4). Then connect the top and bottom points each to 1 and 3. Try Darkfire's mapper -- I had a lot of stars around my constellation and kept connecting the wrong ones.

I've gotten the ceiling open as far as it will a couple of times, but the constellation isn't showing up. Is there something I'm supposed to click on or do after the ceiling opens?

ETA: Nevermind! I hadn't seen the dot on the middle of the bowstring was clickable.

I can't seem to find my "Visit the Basement" button on the janitor page. I tried refreshing and exiting and reentering. Any suggestions?

Click on the black dots on the floor to reveal it.

okay, I found the constellation! And thanks to who ever it was who said the ceiling had to add up to 15 notches... I was about to try *every* single combination (I even wrote them all down!) but then I decided to see the "values" if you will, of each gear beforehand and found 3 that added up to 15 and it worked! whoever it was, you are a GENIUS!

Now, onto spellbooks...

*Phew* I finally found it, and I connected it exactly like I did from the hint.

I'm glad I'm not crazy the higher then normal colored stars had me worried!

I had that problem too. Darkfire's finder gave me where the stars were vaguely, but it took me a couple tries to get the exact stars.

Try visiting the archivist. That fixed that problem for me.

I had this problem earlier. You just have to go and visit the Archivist, as Apranum said.
