Does anyone have any ideas why these codestones are so high? I mean I know there is the possiblity of war, and i personally agree with it, but I've never seen 2 codestones so high for no reason.

What I meant was, I think that's WHY they're so expensive. Prices are set by supply and demand. That dumb Techo asks for Main and Eo more frequently than the others, so demand is higher and supply is lower (since the techo destroys the items) so the price is higher.

I got a Down For Maintenance Pteri just now. Does that mean they're actually doing something to the site?

I know that IE and Avant and I *think* at least one instance of Firefox (though I can't be sure) had this problem. Some cannot redirect to the "confetti" page, but you can still fix the plant. Perhaps you already did? I know I did and it took me a while to notice. If there are words below the pictures telling you not to fiddle with the plant anymore, you got it. Otherwise, I PMed you The Method that is borderline almost not against the rules but not NOT against the rules, if you know what I mean.

Method of last resort, and perfect meditation for healing those ex- wounds. ;)

I PMed 10in2010 with my own Firefoxy tips for the MPW to avoid spamming the boards. When I went crazy with it, I don't know if I got the confetti page at first because I was refreshing too fast to let the pages load completely. The first I saw that I'd fixed it was the message telling you not to fiddle. When I then went back into the plant reception room thingy, THEN I got the confetti page. :)

Cool, yes similar here. Was using Avant to refresh and then after my eyes bugged out from staring at pics changing (brain didn't register the words below the pics) I gave up. Clicked to open my IE and to the Plant Entrance and lo and behold Confetti! Whee! :D

I cannot believe I did the worst thing imaginable. I was sitting there, trying to cram for an exam the next day but didn't want to put down the plot ... I got my friend to help me click crazily here and there in the Plant while I was working and she got the Confetti on her first try. o.o

Whoops.
My mom would have my hide if she found out I was working on a plot when I should be studying for my major mid-year exams. xD

Next constellation ?
I've got a wild idea.
What if we had to follow a certain pattern in the Altadorian Archives in order to unlock the next constellation? That order could correspond to what the Hunter constellation looks like.

Also, I am surprised by the few theories that are presently out.

I see where you're getting...

The random goarch= number is the same on all four doors away from a room in the archive. Apparently direction doesn't matter - which would sort of go against a pattern. Although it's still a possibility.

Well, since we have been discussing codestones I suppose there is no problem with me adding to it:

I just like to say, I've just analyzed data that I've gathered over the course of several months and codestone prices are not rising beyond normal inflation!

Sure, individual codestones have shot up and about but codestone demand as a whole has been steady...

Your graphs make me smile professor! I'm amazed that anyone would use excel out out choice, I hate the thing. What's with the bri line? Strange, I can see no economic reason for that trend. Maybe I'm just being blind...

Back on topic: I'm avoiding the plot boards on neo today, way too much work that needs to be done and whenever I go on there I get sucked in o_0

Posting "now read three paragraphs down" STILL is getting a little old :P

*hides in the safety of PPT*

Sheesh! I'm away for what seems like an eternity of a week and there's still no closure on the plot? I say that I'm not entirely surprised, but is still a little odd. I've been working a lot more recently, due to the loss of an employee. I work in a convenience store and there's only about 5 other employees besides myself. That means I have precious little time to steal away to my precious PPT for the Neopets news.

I've already posted my theory on how the last step works out(more or less).

Step 1: You meet a "mysterious figure who tells you about a book called: "Insert name of super cool book of Altadorian History here"

Step 2: Explore archive labyrinth until you find said book.

Step 3: Read the book to find a diagram of the Hall of Heroes with an "Amulet Code"

Step 4: Place the amulet on the statues according to the "code"

Step 5: Click on the large squiggle slab to reaveal the "Hunter" constellation

Step 6: Find the constellation

Step 7: Get your freak on 'cause BOOYAH! You solved the plot and won prizes: "Insert list of super cool Altadorian prizes here"

I don't know if anyone has discovered this already, but there is NO LIMIT to the size of the archives--I entered a very, very large number for a coordinate and the room showed up...

Wed May 31, 2006 12:12 pm

yes there is a limit, its 2^32 though...

Thanks, professorelite. I was a bit cynical about your last one, but this one appears to be much more interesting. Obviously, with the amount of neopoints flowing into the economy through games/free stuff etc., then prices will steadily increase in Neopia. It's a shame we don't have any information for earlier in Neopian history (maybe you could collect some for the next few months, professorelite, and draw a new graph, with all the information on it).

But the skyrocketing prices of some of the more popular codestones must be beyond regular inflation. Ultimately, there is no difference between the eight regular codestones, yet some are more expensive. I have no idea why, although I can venture a guess.

If I had to say, it would just be that for a couple of the codestones, they were randomly at one point slightly more popular than the others. This initially put the prices up more, and now they're on a rise.

There is also proof that Donna is wrong, in that actually, prices of about half of the codestones have gone down - but the rise of the Eo and Main codestones are affecting the overall average.

Would you be able to stick a median on there, professor? (I assume for average you chose mean)

And back on topic - within the next couple of days, hopefully, unless the clue is buried deep inside the archives already. Maybe everybody's code is in there already, very deeply hidden, but, if you wait a bit, then you'll be able to find someone who will tell you where it is (like the Lenny Conundrum Lenny! Or the Valeous (he owes us a favour! *growl*)

Actually the prices really rose on lab map pieces and codestone pieces when the Lost Desert Plot started and are still rising.

Lab map pieces have double in price, or close to it. And codestones are about the same...they were 1,500 to 2,500 before the L.D.P.
