The general trend has been such that every 2(ish) days at the time the news is update, another piece of the puzzle for the plot is revealed.
Tis all about patience.

I agree. (I hope I'm allowed to agree!) Doesn't it usually release around 6:30-ish? I read that once somewhere.

It comes from *decompiling* the layers of the Flash file, not from viewing the final image.

Yea I get that, the flash file (telescope_cc0270.swf ?) is protected...I'ved tried importing into flash, importing to stage, importing to library...renaming....and its still protected. How did you manage to open the flash file?
I did find a "deprotector" that spit out a file, but all it was was the background....no stars....

The stars are colored pixels dynamically created based on a coordinates datafile retrieved separately and on an individual basis from Neopets's servers. That's why you won't find any pictures of stars or any star data in the Flash file.

farside wrote:I hear they should be in there too. I don't really see any reason not to believe that. Those constellation pictures have been posted on the internet almost since the beginning of the plot, and, so far, those posted pictures have been matching 100% with the verified constellations in the telescope. Why do you consider that those pictures may have come from the Flash file to be "an excuse"? Obviously, the pictures are being displayed by the Flash applet and they had to have come from somewhere, so, if they're not in the Flash file, then they would have to be downloaded by the Flash file. In whatever case, looking through the Flash file would be the first step in retracing the picture trail. It's very believable.
