I just had a thought....at least that's what I am calling it... :D
1) The space station flies past....but it is a space station over a planet. So wouldn't that actually be the planet revolving?
2) When we are looking at the explore map, we are lookin in the direction of the sky as you would be from Alcor. It is located on the other side of the planet, is it not? Somehow there may be a continuation of information, a clue, or just extra data on the explore map that is the same for everyone.
3) Neopets mucked about with the map in the LD plot, shouldn't we be keeping an eye on the explore map sky?

It's NEW, it's IMPROVED and it's probably a complete waste of time (but meh I wanted something to test my non existent flash skeelz on)

http://www.boomspeed.com/zaniam/theSky.html

Plus...I figured it'll make it a bit easier (on everyone).

Just go to linky, dump http://www.neopets.com/altador/astro.ph ... tar_data=1 in there and press submit and wallah Bob's your uncle!

Just so you know though it's scaled down... so while the stars are still the same sizes the distances between them are halved. Hope this helps in some way.

{BTW if any of you are wondering why in the nine hells she's going to all this effort for something that Neopets probably just put in cause it looks pretty... it's called procrastination... ie I'm supposed to be learning for something or other.}

darkfire, the get_star_data, is it different from everybody's? like it's unique? or that link is similar to everyone's?

No the link (the url) is the same for everyone.... (I'm thinking it might change overtime to say a...2 at the end) either way but the coordinates (the lists of confusing scribbles) at that link is different for everyone, which is why if you copy and paste those coordinates into that thingy of mine, everyone will get a different map.

oh wow!!! you're such a saint!!! thank you ever so much! i was getting muddle-headed staring at the confusing sky!

That's excellent, darkfire! I love that you can turn off different colors.

Does everyone else have 7 purple?

Darkfire i pmed you befor ei got to this page and the link....am i correct in assuming that the map it gives is my sky? and thank you for doing it since i cant map as paint wont work atm (i need to format lol)

is it possible that tnt merely gave us the telescope so we can use the weekend to map our sky and actually we dont have to do anything else yet?

Aye Ye Olde Star Mapper will map your sky...but that's not all! It will also...ummm..I'm not sure what yet...but it's bound to do something else.

Personally I think we're not supposed to find any constellations as yet...I think something else still has to happen that gives you some extra clues or something.

please help, thank you.

This is how I mapped my sky:

1. Go to your telescope and click in the top left until you get '-340, 340' in the co-ordinates box. This is your starting point.

2. Open Paint, select 'Image', then 'Attributes', then make the image really big- I went for 50x50 cm.

3. Take a screenshot of your starting point telescope image. Some people have used the Prt Scrn button then edited the image, but I found it easiest to use Fox Screen Capture, as you can select a circle shape (419x419 pixels is about the right size).

4. Paste the screenshot (Ctrl+V) into Paint.

5. In your telescope, click the furthest right hand corner, just above the crosshairs. Make sure that the second coordinate stays at 340.

6. Take a screenshot of the new image. Paste it into paint, making sure you select transparent background. The new image should overlap with your first one- try lining them up using something close to the edge of the second image.

7. Repeat this with the whole of the top of the sky. Then return to your starting point, and click at the very bottom of the crosshairs. Repeat everything with this new row. Continue until you reach '340, -340'. You should now have a complete map of your sky! It's probably now a good idea to go back over the image and colour over any white bits or red lines, as it makes it easier to look at.

Do you have to map your sky? I don't want to *flashback to the LDP Tomb
