ill end it off with this from the neopedia...has anyone checked there?

Neopedia : Kingdom of Altador

Current Location: Unknown (near the sea)
Founded by: The Twelve Heroes
Primary Ruler: King Altador
Council Members: The ten remaining heroes
Areas of Interest: Altador Coliseum, Archives, Hall of Heroes
Long cherished as one of the most outstanding kingdoms in all Neopia, Altador nearly faded completely into myth before making a recent reappearance. Word is quickly spreading that two young heroes, a Lupe and an Acara, had something to do with the great city's restoration. Now, thanks to the aid of Queen Fyora herself, it seems that the Darkest Faerie is once again trapped... this time in a place where Fyora can keep a close eye on her.

With the Darkest Faerie gone, the kingdom of Altador is no longer at risk, which is why it's been made accessible through a portal located in Faerie City. The citizens of Altador are still somewhat dazed by the thousand years that have passed since they were last free, but they seem to be slowly recovering. It appears, however, that many are having trouble remembering the impressive history of their city.

Goodnight everyone.

SNak: Post combined. Got somethin to add? Please use the EDIT button if no-one has posted immediately after you. Helps keep things look nice. Thanks

By the way, your posts will probably be combined by pinkpt people.
Instead of triple-posting, you can hit the edit button (by the quote button) and add comments. Keeps users and monitors happier. I just had to learn that too :D :)

Don't worry about it, firekat. And I'm not sure that I see that last cat....where is it? Do you have a link?

About the month names some of the months belong to the twelve heros but others just don't fit but what they really are doing is they are using Jerdan as January and then it progresses as you would expect it would and we are in march which means we have the constellation of the theif.

That picture, the one with the months attached, actually DOES Make sense. You may want to check it out!

There is the link to a guide that has included this along with pictures.

I don't really know what to think about this one.

EDIT: I know that we've beaten the whole 12 statues thing and that Siyana is lighter than the others, but also on that page is someone putting the months along with the characters, and she is in the "March"position, who knows, but if it the case I certainly hope this doesn't go on for a full year :P

check the website for the month name thing

I did check it out but look at the url's for each of the statues number one is Jerdana also in the observatory you see the constelation of the theif it stands to reason if march were siyana we would see the first to rise constellation.
and if you go buy the number of the statue thats enough to say that the theif would indeed be march.

Okay, I couldn't resist taking one more poke around Neopia. Something drew me to Maraqua. Maybe it was that big O.o *shiny* star in the sky.

It could be nothing, old, a fluke, but I found this in the source code, and I checked almost all of the rest of Neopia, could find nothing similar. It is as if someone is going to add a note later. I highlighted the page to see if there was any "white" (invisible) text but there wasn't. *Hopes for a clue.*

I agree. If it did go 12 months, the prize had better be worth it... ;-P

Anyway, I just checked out that link, and the zoom-in of the city and the water is really interesting. What I immediately thought of in relation to that was the sinking city of Venice. The city of Altador is, in fact, 1000 years behind Neopia's modern time.

VENICE, ITALY!

Venice was one of four seapowers at one point, if I recall correctly. If you notice, there appears to be ocean surrounding Altador. Altador, like Venice, is a very complex and beautiful city as compared to the other ones in Neopia and perhaps had a rich history as a centre of trade before the Dark Faerie wrecked havoc.

We see an island off the shores of Altador. Not far from Venice, just across a canal, is the island of San Giorgio Maggiore.

"Long cherished as one of the most outstanding kingdoms in all Neopia, Altador nearly faded completely into myth before making a recent reappearance..." ~ Venice was a very powerful kingdom at one point, before suffering the arrival of Napoleon and the fall of the Venetian Republic, which ended 11 centuries of independence. The city lost much of its grandeur and had to deal with rebuilding of its city and pride afterward.

The arrival of the Darkest Faerie and her attempt to conquer Altador caused the city to be put to risk and lost a thousand years in the past. Now it has resurfaced and must rebuild, as well, and rediscover the history of the city of Altador.

Basically, what I'm saying is, perhaps Altador is the Neopian equivalent of Venice, Italy in the real world.

Fact: Giacomo Casanova was born in Venice, Italy in 1725... ;-)
