I have screenies I took just after turning on the light and I don't see any changes in light or cracks.
And if something were going to happen when light hit a certain part, like the LDP, wouldn't it be a flash pic? Instead of a gif. But I guess it could be an animated gif
edit:Oops, should've said I saved the pics.I didn't take screenies of them

On the sundial effect...is the shadow here the one in question, to read the sun dial?
If not....what is this shadow of? I see nothing that resembles it near the windows...do we assume this is in the celing, or something??

They are saying on the neoboards that something will happen today because it is the month of ____ and that statue has 22 gems. I don't know if that is true but everyone thinks it means something will happen today.

So, if something were going to happen, maybe it will at 3:22 neopian time?

That isn't a shadow. I don't know what it is, most likely just a decorative floor pattern, but not everything on the floor is a shadow, unless theres a levitating blob to accompany that bit on the right edge.

As for the 8-pointed vs. 12 pointed "suns" :: When I first saw the Altadorian sun symbol, it reminded me very much of Brightvale's sun (which is 8-pointed) and I thought there was supposed to be some connection between the lands? I assume (yes, I know that is bad) that is Brightvale or maybe Meridell on the map of Altador, in the upper-left view of the map? (And I sooooooo want that island to be Lutari Island.)

Heh, a lot of the things being said have been said before because nobody bothers to read up on the previous threads (I don't blame them).
Good thing they changed the name to Lutaris, else I'd be wanting one. Not often that one has a species identical to your last name.

Okay, I've seen many people talking about how the observatory for them is light, it hasn't changed to dark. But for me, mine never changed to light. It's always been dark. Anybody else's still this way?

Have you followed the steps in the first post of this thread? Because that's how the hall gets illuminated.
And I also want to make this clear, I don't want to see anymore "they updated but there's no plot update!! WHINE WHINE" posts. It'll come in due time and those kind of posts help NOTHING.

You need to follow the instructions in the beginning of the split...it will catch you up to where we are.

I'm not quite sure if this is what you mean and if this is what the people you've seen talking mean, but...
I think you mean it's dark by the fact that you can see what is presumably the night sky with the stars and all.
But I think what others mean by light is the fact that the windows that encircle the room are still a light blue - akin to the shade that one would be accustomed to seeing during the daytime hours. Although one is able to see a lighter cluster of pixels in the bottom part of the window on the right.
Even though you can see gradient in both the "night sky" and the "light sky", I think it is way too gradual for there to be such a stark difference between the two shades. And if such a large fraction of the sky is still so bright, I don't think that you would be able to see the stars so clearly.

Is there anything suggesting that the observatory is directly over the hall? Maybe it's not a real observatory. Maybe that's just an elaborately painted ceiling...
just some thoughts/

Hm. Well, if you look, there's blobby-like shadows all over the place. And since the entire ceiling opened up, that would imply the sun is directly shining done, as does the way the shadows of all teh statues are... small and just around all sides of the bases. So probably the vague blob shapes are shadows of clouds, and that's what that big one is, just a bigger cloud. Would make sense, I think.
