Altador Plot Split #5

The angle formed by the lines when you look up at the gem-constellations is 20 degrees. Multiply it by 12, and it is NOT enough for a full circle! In fact, it's exactly enough for 2/3 of a circle! This is big.

Okay, I *used* to be better at such things, so sorry if this is a stupid question, but how can something *dome-shaped* be a "circle"?

I thought the nature of a 3-D dome makes it so there have to be less angles between the 'pieces'? A circle is two-dimensional; a dome is different, such as if you were taking a piece of paper to making a *globe* shape (a sphere), you would have to 'cut' the angles on some sides so that when they fit together they are arrange a three-dimensional structure.

I have to say this, but even though all the theories sounds fantastic they also sounds rather complicated/far-fetched. TNT did say this was going to be a minor plot, so we will probably just have to do a few more of these "quest" type things like we did on the weekend.

Everyone, I have a new theory! I predict that this plot will place huge importance on the number 2/3!

Why do I say this? Well, look at the evidence:

1: By far most of the stars/shapes have either 8 sides or 12. E.g. see the shape of the city (8 ) and the number of heroes in the hall (12). And of course 8/12 = 2/3.

2: The angle formed by the lines when you look up at the gem-constellations is 20 degrees. Multiply it by 12, and it is NOT enough for a full circle! In fact, it's exactly enough for 2/3 of a circle! This is big.

3: We know there are 6 clubs to join. However, only 2 of them (astronomy and mining) have we seen anything of yet. That leaves 2/3 unused!

There's even some weird little things, like 2/3 of the heros are wearing a skirt in their statues (all the girls except Fauna, plus Florin, Torakor, and Altador)

So what do you think the 2/3 means? Will something happen to 2/3 of the heroes? The book is 53 pages long + cover makes 54. Will we only have to fill 2/3 of those (= 36)? Maybe the other 18 are pictures?

What other things it mean?

This post is intended as satire. It is a commentary on the sheer and utter stupidness of most of the "theories" proposed, and the utter uselessness of all of them. Seriously, people, nothing is happening. If you absolutely must do something Altador-related, go memorize all the heroes' names, species, and jobs, and what order they're in. Stop filling the board with mindless drivel.

Don't for get 28 divided by (2/3) is 42 The plot thickens.

Seriously, that is an interesting idea. I'm glad we have you on our side.

Wonderful theorie, it's nice to see someone put it into a nice overview, no silly month, constellations, go-buy-as-many-asparagus-as-there-are-gems-above-your-hero kind of theories, but hard facts!

And to see how 42 fits in there too, wow... I don't know if you realise this, but you've got stars with 8 and with 12 points (makes 20), there's 20 degree angles (makes 40) and two clubs we have seen anything of, making..... 42 again, so great joint effort Dolpin and Sky!!

I'm getting kind of choked that there's been no new developments since what, saturday? Did TNT underestimate our intelligence and ability to problem solve simple things? Did they think this would serve as a suitable plot appetizer?

There was a post about Altador and Maraqua, and how "alt-" is a prefix meaning high. Thought I'd point out that the "alt-" can mean not only high, but also deep. Or at least that's what the adjective "altus(-a/-um)" means in Latin. I doubt anyone on TNT cares, but there is that very tiny connection.
Plus I like Latin far too much to go without mentioning it in this slightly-related-to-Latin thread.'

Well let met see... that original post has been copy/pasted since I made it, so it's not Jas's mistake, it's mine. Ontop of this, we don't mean proper grammar, because if that was the case, most people here on PPT (staff included) would be up the river and in trouble. We just meant capitalization, spelling, no chat speak, that sort of thing. If you are unaware, the rampant neglect of capitalization and spelling not to mention the chatspeak that was going on in the first few threads merited such a post.
And I may become defensive over this, but mod staff make mistakes too. Not to mention, we all have lives outside of PPT, cut us some slack once in awhile. We're only human, and just like members of the forum, we make occasional mistakes too. So how about instead of laughing at us you have some respect for what we do. Mods work hard here on PPT, we try our best to do our jobs, and on occasion there may be minor mistakes such as that.
So if in the future you see a mistake such as the one in the begining of the thread, and you feel the need to announce it to the world, perhaps step back for a moment, and instead PM a moderator about it, rather then posting it on a thread in such a negative manner.
