New ideas

Tue Mar 21, 2006 1:31 am

Ok i just read through all 4 of the topics in about a half hour so excuse me if this stuff has been discussed before. This is also my first time so appologies in advance if I messed up anywhere.

1. Could it be that the reason the Altadorians worship the sun so much is do to them living so close to the water could a high tide from the moon rising cause a flood in the city?

2. Could it be that the dark fairy is not the betrayer at all. Possible since Jerdana's necklace was used to put capture the dark fairy could Jerdana be the betrayer. I got this idea since in the TCG card the necklace is obsorbing something could it be the dark fairies powers? Also there was that TCG card that showed Jerdana imprisoned so that is also how i thought up this idea.

I hope not. It says somewhere that it's her magic that saved the day - which would be a big problem if she was the betrayer. I'm also sure that there are other proofs that it is indeed the DF.

:o I like how you think. I don't think the betrayer is the dark faerie, either... rather, I think it would be more interesting if it turned out to be someone else.

This was mentioned a little while back, don't feel like finding the quote.

Someone asked if it might have any importance that the link to the archives has the big building and then the two smalled buildings as separate links.

No, this has no relevance to anything, this is just so all the links are rectangular.

Edit//

I don't think Jerdana is the betrayer, because

The Book of Ages wrote: ....if Jerdana's magic fails and the betrayer succeeds....

If Jerdana was the betrayer, then her magic wouldn't have to fail, she could just undo whatever spells.
I don't think it's the DF, though. She's much too famous already. It's probably either someone that we haven't met yet or the person we would least expect.

As we've said countless times now, all those things already happened in the video game. The Darkest Faerie was the Betrayer, she imprisoned Jerdana, blah blah blah. The video game and TCG stuff is all in the past.

You make a good point but the book was written during while all of this was unfolding so maybe she had not revealed herself as being evil yet. Maybe i just crazy but i have seen alot of movies and there is always a person who you think is the villian and then towards the end you learn that the are actually good and a person you thought was good was actually evil.

Also the darkest faerie's statue in the hall of heros has a calming sort of happy apperance. Why would the statue builders have gave her this expression if she was actually the bad person. Also why would she be in the hall of heros if she is evil. I think maybe someone that has not been releaved yet will come out of the shadows.

sorry i have not played the game before

I forgot why, but I think it's explained in the game. She is one of the founder of Altador, despite her betrayal, she still deserves the credit.

I enlarged and overlaid 3 or 4 of the TCG's and wasn't able to match anything up over the weekend. I guess I should'nt have tried to be so exact since they are distorted slightly, it would've been better to do it with a pencil to check, lol.

Since we already knew each of the 12 had their own constellation, I don't see this as being a clue for what to do next. I'm starting to wonder, though, if at some point the 'gems' will become clickable and we'll have to click just the pattern of each constellation.

Oooh. Sounds like the mini-game I mentioned yesterday.

I mean, we already know the plot was going to be small and relatively simple. But I'm really hoping for something that simple.

Connect the dots is fun.

Edit:
Just out of curiosoty (since I never pay any attention to these sorts of things) what is a normal time for an update from TNT?

This is my second day stuck at work with nothing to do but listen to and participate in wild speculation about the plot. Sure, I could do some work, but where's the fun in that?

I don't like being angry, and I've already had a REALLY bad day - so I'll go easy.

PLEASE, EVERYONE, LISTEN!

This is a MINI plot, probably just to introduce those unlucky enough to not have a chance to play the PS2 game. We already KNOW who the betrayer is, it's nothing you can argue about. It is also said that the betrayer was among the heroes - so how can it ben someone who has not yet been revealed when we know all the heroes are?

There are 12 statues because they were made before the DF rebeled, which would also be why she doesn't look too evil.

I check these boards once or twice a day and I have read EVERY post so far - and I am getting rather irritated at the number of times people have to explain this. Therefore, PLEASE - when someone tells you it has been said and disproved, believe us.

That's a good point. The story of the PS2 game is important to parts of the site (in its own way). Perhaps this mini plot is just a way to get it all down where everyone can catch up and know what has happened without having to purchase and play the game. This way they can just go on with future plots and not have to worry that some people might not know what has previously happened.

Altador seems to derive the "Alt-" beginning from altitude, referring to the height. To get there you have to go to Faerieland anyway, which is in the sky, and in a high tower. The statue is, however, at the bottom of the ocean floor in the Maraquan ruins-- quite the opposite of the location of the portal to Altador.

This is from a few boards ago.

'Altador', if we're talking roots, seems strikingly similar to 'altera' - Latin for 'other'. This seems logical to me because of the hints of the "other side of Neopia" being made available. Just a thought.

Edit: I don't know if it's been pointed out, but the Gladiator character in the hall of heroes bears a striking resemblance to the Grarrl Warrior Avatar.

Tue Mar 21, 2006 3:21 am

The real "name" for the "Grarrl Warrior" is Grarrl Gladiator

i'm just trying not to take something as set in stone until we know for certain, which we don't for much of anyhting right now. So I'm just going to point out that the book of ages never actually goes out and says that the betrayer was one of the heroes. It just calls her 'one of our own' and 'a friend and ally to the heroes.' It majorly implies it, but it never actually goes out and states it explicitly, and with TNT, you never know....
