If your parents haven't signed the permission slip, you should be fine.
But then again, I'm not sure.

Is it just me or has the cging died down? Many people seem to be going about their neopian lives as usual, I'm still paranoid though 'til I hear from the almighty ppters

I saw a 1000 NP item for 100 NP in the shops, but I didn't buy it because I was afraid it was a CG trap. It was probably a typo, but still....

I haven't heard anything, either, but I'm keeping on my toes just in case.

The paranoia factor is really holding us back. I turned away two faerie quest (nothing major) since I was too paranoid to check usershops after regular shops failed.

sigh

I mentioned previously in this thread that my boyfriend's account was (probably) cg'd last week and someone got into his account, stealing all his nps.

Well, since then he changed the password, and instated the PIN on all available features... No other odd activity was noticed by him on his account since.

Thought that would be enough....
WRONG!

Yesterday, when trying to login, he was met with this lovely message...

" This account has been FROZEN for the following reason:

You MAY have either fallen for a scam or submitted your account information to a fake login page. If you'd like information on getting your account back, please contact us by clicking here."

It sent him to a form where he had to fill in a bunch of information to verify his account. He's furious. I don't blame him. We've both been playing for over a year, and bought MANY packs of cards for item codes. We are also both premium members.

I find it stange that it took a week for them to do this, and I really don't know why they even did. In the report, he informed them what happened and what measures he took.

I keep trying to cheer him up, telling him he'll get it back - he didn't do anything wrong... but I myself have little faith that they will restore his account after reading all the horror stories on here. So then he will have to call and cancel premium. I told them that if his account isn't restored and it comes to canceling, to give them heck on the phone, but what good will that do anyway.

I love neopets... it's been so fun for both of us, spending time writing little stories back and forth about our pets... talking about the new features together... Today as I play I feel like any miniute now, everything I worked for on my account will be taken away just like that on a whim. And it's no fun without him now. My eyrie is so loney.

I'm also freaked the heck out since he and I live together and obviously share the same computer. I'm waiting to be next.

I post this as a warning to everyone who was cg'd. Although, I don't know what good it will do. I'm pretty disgusted myself... :(

Have him fill out a form here as well: http://premium.neopets.com/frozen.aspx

He might have a better chance of getting a response that way.

Thanks, Erin. I will show him that when he gets home. Hopefully it will at least get them to notice him a little more. :)

marymouse, TNT is freezing any accounts that have been cg'ed. Why it took a week to freeze your boyfriend's I don't know.

From what I have seen, at least for premium members who use the form Erin gave you, they get de-iced pretty fast. One thing to tell your boyfriend. When he goes to that link, he'll get a login page. Tell him to put in his username and his premium/neomail password. They don't make that completely clear on that page, and alot of people have ended up confused because they put their account password in and they can't fill out the form.

Good luck to him and anyone affected.

I have no idea if this is over. TNT is working on it, of that I am confident. In the meantime though, I too am staying away from all user edited pages.

Oh good! That gives us hope. I just showed him your post now! THank you so much! :)

My faith in neopets *might* be restored... *crosses fingers*
