Never going to happen. Too much uproar of religion debate would pop up, which i think theyd rather avoid

Well they don't celebrate Christ, they just do the commercial aspect of it (red and green colors, decorated trees, gifts, etc.) and leave it quite non-religious. Since Hanukkah isn't commercialized I can't see them doing that. As long as they leave it at the 'holiday cheer' level it doesn't seem like it is offensive or exclusionary.

Some really fun plushies would be very nice, especially a Lawyerbot one. Maybe a pair of ice skates and another knit hat like that cute jubjub one from a couple years back.

My biggest hope is that they are all new items, I've always found it disappointing to get something I already have in my SDB, heh.

You cant please everyone, some holidays must be overlooked for various reasons.
(Somehow i doubt youd like the celebration of the Prussians crushing france would you?)
Christmas, easter and suchforth are well-known, due to their roots (not going into it. Promise) and are suchforth celebrated.
Heck, i can think of about four seperate new years off the top of my head, and but-two of them are even noted (English and chinese)

Yeah it's just to do with what is the most commercialised/recognisable really, and religion doesn't come into Santa's birthday much anyway ;)

I'm hoping for at least one petpet and some nice plushies ^^

True story, while trying not to go into a rant. Some guy in the UK was asked for a survey why we celebrate Christmas. His answer: It's to do with that Saint Nick bloke innit?

If thats not commercialism taking it's hold then what is. The reason TNT make a big deal out of Xmas (what Christmas has become) is because the majority of it's users do.

I remember a load of complaints last year about why TNT all had Thanksgiving off - the way of the world comes before a computer game. Unless you get that computer game wrapped and under the tree.

Wow it's that time of the year again? I hope they give out petpets! :)

Anything would be fine with me. Let's just hope nothing gets stolen again. (:

I highly doubt that we will see an end to THAT tradition this year....

Not a chance. >_<

Like they're ever going to break THAT tradition :P

I need a t-shirt that says "I lost my Wand of Ultra Nova at the Advent Calendar".

Mmm...petpets would be nice, especially since many Advent Calender petpets (white ona, snowbunny, snicklebeast) have been very cute.

Whatever goes is fine by me, though. No matter what, freebies are freebies, and if I sell them all off sometime next spring I'll have at least a bit of a profit. :D

They can at least try. They could just ignore all holidays, and if they are too big to ignore, celebrate them in a more Neopets style. I want to be able to celebrate all Neopets holidays. In the calendar they say "Dec 25th - Day of Giving - Gifts abound as all Neopia gets full of festive spirit " but in the news they ignore it. There are 83 items with "Christmas" in their name (including Christmas petpets), and no items with "Hanukkah", or "Kwanzaa".

Heh, I dont really care, I just need some stuff to stuff my SDB with to get the packrat avatar. (Again) :P

:roflol: That would be awesome!

I usually hate the Advent Calendar. All it gives you (most of the time) is useless junk, in my opinion. Plushies and toys I don't need, and I can't sell them because they go for about 50 neopoints. Petpets - well, everyone has one, so what makes them so special when you attach them to your pet? Battledome items...eh, they're most likely crud (though the Flaming Oven Gloves I heard are pretty good).

I am aware that Neopets is doing this out of kindness, but I really wish they'd give us some real items instead of 50-neopoint-made-just-for-Christmas things.

Ah, well. I guess I'm just in a 'bah humbug' mood.

I don't care about the advent. Even if they'll give out 30-icon weapon, it'll eventually cost 1k, like everything they give out.

Maybe a stat-increasing would be nice. :)
