I seem to be having the most incredible luck. For this set, I've found each correct symbol on the first try. And each room has about 20 racks o.o

'Course, this won't continue, I bet :P

Sorry about this, someone kindly supplied a link to the list/details of all the trading cards but I've lost it from my fav's, could anyone oblige again please.

Also, does anyone know where the IDB has gone and when it'll be back?

Do you mean the card checklists in the Wizard's shop or a list on the WotC site? Both should be easy to find through the Wizard's shop in the Bazaar.

I agree with the IDB question too.

Amulet of Thilg (Light?)

Sun Nov 20, 2005 7:01 am

Ok, you asked for it. Here is my whopper of a theory. Feel free to shoot it down, if your "bullets" don't fly right through the holes already in it. :P

Amulet of Thilg

A blood red stone, set in twisted gold...

...this amulet was first discovered, deep in the pyramids of The Lost Desert, by a group of researchers. The following is an excerpt from the expedition leader's journal:

"The mere presence of this strange artifact gives me chills, like someone is standing behind me, breathing on my neck, yet when I turn around... nothing. I will not feel comfortable again until we safely deliver this cursed item to the museum.

(It seems the research group never made it back to the museum. None of them were ever found.)

The guides we hired are wary of it as well. They fear it is "shkanum-da," an item whose legend I will now record here:

Long ago, a demented and evil ruler ascended to the throne by birthright.
(Razul?)
The Lost Desert suffered under his rule, that is, until by either fate or luck, no one is sure, quarry workers unearthed a forgotten tomb. There, they found an ancient scroll of powerful dark magic. <<< Doesn't this sound an awful lot like what we just did? Hauling sand to unearth a Repository; then finding a Mysterious Scroll.

...most claim the spell trapped him in a block of crystal, except for a single drop of his blood, which fell to the ground and crystallized into a gem of deep red.

The pharaoh's son (Jazan?),seeing how his father's cruel reign had led him to his own vicious demise, hid his dark heart from his people, and ruled in false fairness. However, he would have his revenge on the citizens of The Lost Desert. The night of his father's death, he took up the crystal of blood and set it into an amulet. Placing a curse upon it, he hid the amulet in the tomb of the great pyramid, and waited for its time to come... " <<< Perhaps there is an Amulet for us to find in the Temple?

Also, interesting to note, the Bewitched Ring TCG Card in the Darkest Faerie is not easily accessible from where it should be (perhaps someone can find/post the link from the imager server if one should be found to exist?)

Question: Is Thilg an anagram for Light? (Even if so, what does it mean?)

Another question: Is "shkanum-da" an anagram for something? It is described as a cursed/feared Item, but I am not sure what in the descriptions following it is referring to, the Amulet or the Pyramid, etc.

Oh, and the Amulet of Thilg TCG Card quotes this, "Gilly held the amulet tightly and tried not to think of anagrams."

Sun Nov 20, 2005 7:08 am

There's only one anagram for "thilg": light. But since the amulet says: "Gilly held the amulet tightly and tried not to think of anagrams." the name may be a distraction. It may also be a hint to make an anagram of it, which would be light, which is then a clue...

I honestly think it's irrelevant to the plot since it's an item connected to something else entirely (it's an offshoot item from the Castle of Eliv Thade.) As it's one of the 4 items you have to recover in the Eliv Thade game, you have to solve so many anagrams (in order to progress in the game) that you don't want to think about it. :P The Neopedia entry was created long before this plot was set into motion (it was set up shortly after the items were placed in the Hidden Tower.)

The Amulet is just another red herring, per usual.

Hmm... an unknown word with no known translation. Could it have been lost if there were a Dark Age? Dang Razul, Darkest Faerie, Bringer of Night, The Three, etc. If they didn't cause any trouble...

...and might be a segway into the darest faerie plot and Nuria(since the Amulet of Thilg trading card is in that set and activated with fire).
Does anyone know what amulet the faerie at the bottom of the ocean is wearing? *grasping*

Well aren't we all little "can-o-worms-openers" tonight! :P reading the neopedia for the Amulet of Thilg is horribly tantalizing!! but of course, as was said, it's an old item. it probably was, like someone else said, a springboard for this plot, if nothing else. but so very tantalizing! i want it to matter.... i want it to matter!!! (clicks ruby slippers three times) :) ..... :( why is nothing happening?

I just wanted to thank everybody here for helping me get to this point in the plot and also take the time to give a stern look in TNT's direction. I truly feel they should start advertizing carpal tunnel treatments as a way of acknoledging how much clicking they must know we have gone through. I fear my hand will never have feeling again. :(

hi guys. ive jus finished my exams, and im back on the plot. im currently on the first crystal, and im not sure about the fourth instruction,

Now click the colored directory that is the same as the first color on your crystal. Take the symbols that were designated for that color and read them in order as found in your DIRECTORY (NOT your tablet). If a symbol repeats, read it again.

could anyone explain a little simpler?
lol, thx in advance!

Awesome and creative connections Anjuna! But like others have said, it's most likely a mere coincidence and irrelevant to the plot. :)

Seriously. I think that's probably the reason I disliked the scroll reading so much--my hand and wrist were physically defeated. In fact, my hand almost became permanently attached to my mouse...

Being stuck in the plot for a couple of weeks!

As I said before I'm stuck in the repository. My blank symbols are eye, eye, cup, cup. I was doing the sequence and succesfully finished reading the white scrolls in the given location for the first three symbols then accidentelly clicked on a scroll which I didn't want to read. Now I have tried starting again at the beginning and going out of the repository and back in again. I was given another crystal again yesterday as a random event, but I still can't procede. I have entered my crystal in the model city again and tried the whole sequence, but nothing.... Any suggestions anyone??

Edit: I thought I might have to do the sequence again for obtaining the second crystal, but my card catelog is still the same as I had for the thirth crystal.

Jopets-

You don't supposed to start over from the beginning, you start the latest sequence over again. If I understand correctly that you already did three white scrolls, you just have to do the last symbols again to get the last white scroll location. However IF you already go the location but clicked on the wrong scoll after, the last scroll location will show up when you click ANY scroll and you can continue to the correct white scroll.

does it works the same for the first crystal? and er, it must be in sequence right?
