I not exactly a fan of shooters but do love the Die Hard 2 shooter in the Die Hard Trilogy game.

i'll keep the classics, none of this halo rubbish (bet they dont even know what it means..)

DOOM: this game is your god (ok so is 2) bombing round a weird maze, with music so creepy slipknot would run home crying, and daemons bigger than your average Oxen (and about as smart to be fair) and then came...them, the revenants i believe, goat legged freaks who reanimated the other daemons, so you had to kill em all again, and the floaty skull things...the scream.. the scream! :o
ok enough of doom (where did i put that.. i fell like killing some daemons)

lets go to that golden game that i oddly never got round to playing, half life.
ive seen the video for the second game...im telling you if i too get to fight five legged, war-of-the-worlds esque robots with nothing more than a pistol and a half doze allies to get in the way of enemy fire im buying this game.
if my computer will run it. (same goes for doom 3, except minus robots and plus rocket zombies..)
oh and goldeneye and perfect dark ruled, its a shame rare dont have a good game to their name since the N64.

I usually hate FPS gates but for some reason I loved C&C Renegade.

Doom hurts my eyes.

Doom III however will blind them with sheer brilliance, I'm sure. I'll have to get my new AMD 64 chip, 1gb of ram and a geforce 6800 256mb before I can play on that. 8)

I love em. My favorites by far are Wolfenstein 3D, Return To Castle Wolfenstein, Halo, Metroid Prime, Quake 3 Arena, Star Trek: Elite Force Series, and UT2K4.

Metroid Prime tops my list, though it's debatable weither or not it's a FPS (Like most people think) or a FP Adventure (Like the fanboys). Halo comes in a close second, since there's nothing better than killing wave after wave of Flood. :P

Meh, back to my Metroid Prime Speed Run. I'm down to 1:25. I've got to beat 1:03, since the current record is 1:04. I'm off.

hahahahaha, dont get a 6800, waste of money, and space on your mo bo.

Like This:
AMD 3200 64
1gb Corsair/Kingston HyperX PC3200 SDRAM
ATI X800 Pro (costly, but its the best card on te market, will be for about a year too :P)

You don't need to tell people what to get. They have a right to waste their money or not.

The best FPS is Perfect Dark, it has many modes of play and nothing can beat the multiplayer mode, 4 humans vs 8 computers = total disaster, and when trying to get 400 kills...and also the challenges ;)

What's even more chaotic is a full 32 person server in UT2k3 using the gib laser.

Flame wrote:I played the first person shooter GoldenEye for the N64 a few years ago with 2 friends and my brother. It was rather amusing because we were bored, had nothing else better to do, and it was good for a few laughs when someone got killed. The thing I remember most clearly from the game is the blood dripping on the screen when your character dies...

But shooting games get sorta boring after a while.

I can relate to Flame. My buddies and I were tired of shooting in GoldenEye, so we switched to "Chop Mode" were we just punched each other. That's a golden moment (pun not intended)

If I play a shooter, it has to be unique or serious. The "Medal of Honor" series is notable, as well as Banjo-Tooie (it had a FPS mode) and Metroid Prime. I haven't played it (Prime) but it looks like fun.

Ahh...those were the days. But now, to get a full FPS or team experience, you have to pay alot more. Even for MMORPG's. Headsets are becoming standard in online games, and you have to pay a little extra for voice-chat. I think the video game R&D departments should try investing a little research in LAN.
