I would assume that its similar with Google ads in that the Ad companie doesnt actually show them the Ads they will use beforehand.
however, if they complain they should be able to get them removed.

come ON.
TNT blocks Brucey B Slots for junior accounts - why do you think they'll advertise porn, especially when their whole business depends on kids and they're not taking the slightest security/safety risk? thats just ridiculous.

I had lots of disturbing porn popups a little while ago in some sites that doesn't have to do anything with porn nor advertising. I scanned my computer with Ad-Aware, which found many spywares in my comp, quarantined them, and the popups disappeared. I had popup-blockers, but I think that they can only deal with outside-popups and not with spyware-planted ones.

Scan your PC, I recommend Ad-Aware.

I agree - get MS Antispy and Ad-Aware - the popups might not be from NP's at all - but then again - they could be

I'm afraid those PORN ads will be the death of Neopets.

Wow, is the mention of the word 'Sex' porn nowadays? :P

naaah, i'm sure those ads only advertise a lecture of a sexologist about the outcomes of amphibian sexual intercourse.

Oh, come now. I agree the ad is tasteless, stupid and doesn't belong on Neopets, but it's hardly porn. It's an ad for an adult chat, where yes, people will probably be talking dirty, but there's no videotaped/visual porn involved.

It could, indeed, be coming from Neopets. Tasteless, inappropriate ads have slipped through before. It could also be coming from some kind of computer infection, so I second (third?) the advice to do a full scan. Use AdAware and also do a free online scan using Housecall and/or PandaScan (if you don't have updated antivirus software of your own).

Ah. I think the definition of pornography is broad, some people think it's narrow. We'll have to disagree about whether that site is true pornography. But if the New York State Attorney General can persuade Yahoo to ban under-18 sex chat rooms

effective October 12, 2005, I think TNT might want to remove that pop-up ad link for anyone under 18. (Note: that was not intended to be a live link and I ticked the "Disable HTML in this post" box.)

Speaking of porn, I've always thought this was slightly risque:

Two scantily clad young girls, one with her head in the other's lap, mouth in an "oh" . . . yeah, find some better sponsers, Neopets

and you would think, with the sponser being disney, that kid oriented material will be decent.

What has this world come to

weird.. i had been playing neopets for a couple of years and have yet to experience any pop up.. and my browser will always report pop ups before blocking them..

Another program to try is Spybot S&D.

And as far as what is appropriate on neopets, some of these children are young enough that they think babies are delivered by the stork. Who wants their young child seeing that ad and and asking, "Mommy, what is sex?" Most parents want to be able to plan that conversation. Just my two cents.

They're sisters! I think you may be reading a little too much into the Disney ad. ;)

And THAT'S why it's important to tell children where babies really come from when they ask the first time.

yea, they might be sisters, but they are dressed provocatively, at least for a kid site.
