For those topics one could describe as the forum equivalent of a twinkie. Word games, forum contests and giveaways are all the rage here.

amarise wrote:Yeah, but you have to understand I'm viewing this in a certain way. If I were to put in a subtext, it would only cover the blank, black-ish space, and wouldn't touch the leaves at all. With that little space for me, it would make a rather small font.

-_- subtexts are usually in a small font anyways, though. I think the black space has plenty of space for two lines. Maybe even 4.

Am I the only other person who thinks suirrel and nibble rhyme. It's not a perfect rhyme, but it does rhyme...

I totally bombed this round :(

Judges Notes:
This was another tough round, but I was happy with a lot of the subtexts. One thing I liked was that there were only a few really boring, subtexts, like we have had in other rounds. I like that people are getting creative. Its good!

Laughing in My Nutty Wonderland
I don’t think the squirrel looks like it is laughing, so that’s where I am a little confused with your subtext. I like the way ‘Wonderland’ is used, a different way of saying fall, so it really puts me on the fence with this one.

.:Compact Disk:.
Fall into Orange
I like this one. The signature is very orange (I love orange), and you also incorporated the fall part, in a good way. I like this one.

.:Requiem:.
Delicious Autumn
This is very good. You mentioned the squirrel without coming out and saying it, but you got the setting in there. Very good.

Ammer
Shades of Fall
This is an excellent one. You incorporated the setting, whilst also mentioning all the colours in the background. Nice.

Anoohilator
That wonderful time of year again...
This really reminds me of Christmas, and I think it does that to most people. Because of that, I don’t think it works on this signature at all. Sorry.

dargonz
Rodents by the dozens bringing in their country cousins
Wow, I don’t know where this is coming from. There is only one squirrel, and he doesn’t look like he is going anywhere. If there was more than one squirrel, or the squirrel looked like it was running away, this may work, but here, it doesn’t.

Divine
In fall I go a-nibble nibble
That's because I am a squirrel!
I really don’t like this one. I just don’t think that it fits with the signature. The signature has a warm, cozy feel to it, and your subtext has more of a playful, cute, kiddy fell to it. They just don’t go together.

Khristian
*Fade in* When You're A Squirrel....*Fade out**Fade in* Go Nuts!*Fade out*
I am a little unsure about this one. I mean, it is a nice subtext, and it is a little playful, but not overly. I am unsure whether it would work with the signature. I really like the word play with ‘Nuts’, though!

matterbug
Biting into Fall
This is a lot like Requiem’s, whereas it mentions the squirrel and the setting, all in one compact little subtext. Nicely done.

pattypus
Feeling slightly nutty
This is good, but I think it could work a little better if you changed the words a bit. “Going a little nutty” seems to work better, for me at least.

Stephanie
Fall is all around us
I think this would work better if the leaves went all the way around the signature, or if there were trees or something near the top. But since the only ‘fall’ is on the bottom, ‘Fall is all around us’ just seems really boring. In no way did you mention the squirrel; you just mentioned the leaves on the bottom.

the_dog_god
Just a squirrel with a keyboard...
I like how you described Amarise, and mentioned the squirrel. I always like when people find a way to tie the picture to the person.

VeraX
Feeling A Little Squirrelly
This is very boring. Like I have said so many times before, there is just nothing special or exciting about this.

I nominate _jade_em_, dargonz , Divine and Stephanie .

Laughing in My Nutty Wonderland

I wasn't sure this squirrel was laughing, and, to me, 'Nutty Wonderland' sounds a little off. It's a good, individual effort though.

.:Compact Disk:.
Fall into Orange

Well done, this is a clever subtext. Incorporating the colours and season, but as a play on words, makes this a great subtext. Well done!

.:Requiem:.
Delicious Autumn

I like this one, the way you described the subtext, incorporating the squirrel eating the nuts, and the setting, is really well done. Nice work.

Ammer
Shades of Fall

I didn't like this one much, it goes as far to say its autumn, and there are a variety of colours, but, for me, it doesn't really do much. I think the squirrel was a focus here, and shouldn't really be ignored.

Anoohilator
That wonderful time of year again...

It reminds me of Christmas, too, but, I guess Autumn is a pretty wonderful time of year. I'll take it as your interpretation, though, and its okay.

dargonz
Rodents by the dozens bringing in their country cousins

I actually like this one. It's creative, though, there may not be multiple squirrels, I still think it works. I can imagine squirrels behind it, following.

Divine
In fall I go a-nibble nibble
That's because I am a squirrel!

Hmmm... I'm on the fence. I think this set was rather fun, but, it seems too childish for me. I think the rhyme is pretty good, but, it doesn't click for me.

Khristian
*Fade in* When You're A Squirrel....*Fade out**Fade in* Go Nuts!*Fade out*

I really like the word play and fade in this one, I think they've both been used to good effects. I think it was a more relaxed signature, so, it works perfectly.

matterbug
Biting into Fall

This is good, the way you mention the squirrel and season is nicely done. It really gives a feel for the signature, and would fit perfectly. It's nicely worded, too.

pattypus
Feeling slightly nutty

This is another good one, it's a play on words, and mentions the squirrel, the focal point of the signature. It doesn't strike me as the best of the round, rather, a solid entry.

Stephanie
Fall is all around us

This seems too mundane for me, it's too generic for my liking. It doesn't describe the squirrel really, it's just too plain.

the_dog_god
Just a squirrel with a keyboard...

This is creative, I like it when people take the alternative route. It mentions the squirrel, not the setting, but I still find it a smart subtext.

VeraX
Feeling A Little Squirrelly

This is okay, but, it too, is generic. There were quite a few options on this signature, but, I feel this has taken a duller route.

I vote for _jade_em_, Ammer, Divine and Stephanie.
