Lost Desert Plot Disc #90 (Summary in First Post)

The tomb was pretty self forward about needing a map. Mapping scroll racks seems ... not practical and most likely not necessary. There are repeat scolls everywhere. I made note of where to find one of each type scroll could be found (to be practical) and am trying to find a rack that matches my tablet.

The chef, who looks very familiar, glances at you as you enter. "Well, fancy meeting you here. Turns out they needed a chef for the cafeteria here, and as I was out of a job, they hired me on!" He twirls his rolling pin. "Unfortunately, I ain't gotten any shipments of food yet, so I can't make anything. Just some mislabeled boxes." He sighs. "This job is boring."

-_- I gave up on the search for one of my doors AGES ago. I stayed in that tomb for 2 hours going round, backwards and forwards, but still didn't find it. I couldn't even map it out properly so I'm out.

are the repeat scrolls the same size as each other also? i suspect the sizes are gonna be important.

This is what my foreman/chef says now...is this new?? I think missed out on the crystal/vial thing. I didn't log on yesterday

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out PHEW!!
One question though, what are we doing w/ the scrolls? I can click on a scroll rack and it shows all different kinds, but can we do anything w/ them yet?

:D Got the crystal for the underage account! Had to repeat the prophecy part of the puzzle (and it was indeed a repeat) and then the Chef said the right things and we made it through to the crystal. One happy 10-year-old kid, and I feel :D except I still haven't found the scroll rack that has all the scrolls from the Astral, River, and Maze library doors yet.

How about the cooking pot...he is a chef after all. Useless crystal shows up as an item in the ingrediants drop down boxes if its in your inventory. Just a thought...any ideas???

I was just at the Help page, asking Sarah the Zafara some questions (didn't we have to do that on one of the older plots?).

I tried "crystal", "useless", "repository", and "scroll", but didn't get back any results for any of them.

You know, I don't think I've ever got anything helpful from that page. sigh.

are the number of duplicates of each scroll type the same?

Hmm, I couldn't give numbers but there are definately some which are MUCH rarer than others, for example I searched the entire 1st floor without finding a single red Fer (which was my temple scroll).

Take the order of the colors in the LC question. Then, take the 16 symbols from your tablet.
Read 16 scrolls in that order. (ie. red saf, blue lat, etc).

Has anyone tried that?

I've been trying to do this for hours, but there are 3 scrolls I need that I can't find!

This doesn't take into account the fact that the scrolls come in 5 shapes.

1: the one with the straight edge on top of seal
2: the one with the straight edge below seal
3: the skinny one
4: the one with the notch out of the top of the scroll
5: the other one (large with 4 notches)

I don't think so. I read scrolls in the LC color sequence, all with my Nuria statue symbol. The only thing that happened is I discovered two more blocked-off & inaccessible staircases, on level 2. See an earlier post of mine for a screenshot. But I think some other people said they could also see the blocked-off room, which had been an accessible room during the furniture moving. If that is true, then it was just coincindence. I really wish we had a "ideas that people have tried that don't work" thread. Someone needs to try what I did one more time, just in case I made an error (accidentally clicked the wrong scroll, or something). If it doesn't work, two more people should try it, but this time reading a unique scroll--I reused a couple of scrolls because I couldn't easily find more than one red or purple in my symbol. And if that doesn't work, that whole idea could be abandoned.

Anyone else care to update the PPT world on what they tried that didn't do anything? We are probably duplicating effort all over the place. Of course, it may be that there is just nothing more to find at this point.

PS I really, really doubt the scroll shapes have anything to do with anything. TNT just didn't want every scroll looking identical on the racks.

Has anyone found the furniture director somewhere in the repository? Maybe he has something to do with the plot, as well.

Also, I tried going down the back stairways, and made it to the level 3 down stairwell. It kicked me out to the main up stairway in floor 2. Going back up the stairwell leads to the usual locale. Is there a second down stairwell on floor two, or is this a dead end. And is there any other stairwells in the basement of the repository?

Could you explain how you're so sure please? It certainly isn't what I've seen although I've only checked about 1/2 of the scroll racks. There are 2 which seem very rare and 3 which I still haven't found at all.

Everyone got kicked out of the repository before it got remodeled into its current form. There's no way you could be there now. There's also no way to get into that secret passage on the 2nd floor, since I just tried the back stairwell route and hoped that it work. No dice. Hopefully, a bug report will fix that right up.
