Swearing is just a part of normal conversation. My favourite is 'Bloody Hell' followed by the worlds most versitile word.

And that was cursing in joy...

I do hope we won't be butting heads in the World Series. My being from the SouthSide of Chicago and all.

Butting heads with a Chicagoan in baseball isn't much of a challenge, unfortunately. There are three words for Cubs fans, and two for White Sox fans, that win any argument by virtue of fluster.

The first are "Nineteen," "Oh," and "Eight," in that order.

And the other are "Joe Jackson."

(Alternatively, you can get a White Sox fan's attention by saying "Bill Veeck," if you remember Disco Night or The Night They Wore Shorts.)

Bringing up any of those sets of words tend to cause cursing in Chicagoans, and H E Double Hockey Sticks are the least of the words flowing out of their mouths.

Now, if you want to talk hockey, or economic development, or tourist destinations, or vibrant downtown, then you Illinoisans have got quite a bit of ammo.

Not as much as I used too. Oddly I swear the most at my camp; but never infront of the kids; just when they're not around. I swear most when i'm around horses.
Something to do with them stepping on me... or biting me... or being stupid idiot heads.
Yeah.

I'm terrible for it. Though I have a talent for creative swearing, and made up a hybrid-swearword that has been adopted by a group of people in bangor. :o

Ditto.
even using Geek swears too, and wargamer ones (they get fun looks)
cant forget the downright odd ones that were invented for some reason or another.

I rarely swear, not that I have a problem with swearing I just usually don't let my feelings out. I keep everything bottled up although every once in awhile a bit of swearing comes out. All depending on the situations. :) Now my brother swears ALOT mostly descriptive swearing though.

Yes, I swear most of the time. I found myself swearing on a Spanish recording I was doing for my teacher. Then she collected it. I was like. AHHH!

Wow, this is certainly a very different result from when I posted a similar post several years ago here. XD

No, I don't swear. I guess it came from being raised in a Christian school, although now I find that I sometimes have to suppress bad language in my head. Public school does things. :P

Yeah, that one. Don't click that link kiddies.

I swear. I don't really do it online cuz I don't really know who could see it and because of how old people are in the forums I'm in. :3

I don't swear in front of little kids or my parents in real life.

Usually when I swear, it's blurted out and I don't think about it much. So typing online before I post something gives me time to think about my words. ^^;

I swear a lot at work, but less so outside of it. I am trying to give it up, mainly because the words lose their effect if over-used. What's the point in uttering an expletive when you're shocked/annoyed/hurt if you use the things all the time. I'm trying to say things like 'fiddlesticks' and 'drat' instead.

I don't swear, I never have.
I don't like swearing, so I don't.

Ginger Harp Seal Pup wrote:*wipes brow* Whew. I thought I was the only one who swore a lot. I swear quite a lot in the work place too and boy do I feel bad about that. I can't even help myself anymore. Sometimes I hardly know I'm saying it. I swore in a sentence and my mom said "What did you just say young lady?" And I haven't got a clue what she's talking about and she'll tell me I swore.

You should hang around me sometime. You'd think you were an angel.

Tue Oct 18, 2005 7:43 pm

Yes I swear a lot but I'm not proud of it. It's a bad habit I need to get out of.

Tue Oct 18, 2005 8:02 pm

I usually do it by accident, like I don't realize I'm doing it. Last year, I slammed my locker door on my finger really hard and I shouted a swear word (not a really bad one), but luckily nobody heard me. Sometimes, if I get really angry or upset I'll swear, but I never use the really bad swear words. So, unless I'm in pain or I'm mad, no, I don't swear.

Its kind of odd.

I can control myself when I'm around people, even if they swear their heads off. Can control myself very well, not let a word slip.

When I'm by myself though... oh dear lord, I don't know how I can fit that many words into a sentence.
