You know, when your pet reads any of the other 11 scrolls (the ones that don't match the glyph on your statue), your pet "gains a little insight." Has anyone had their pet read all 11 "extra" scrolls? If so, did anything happen?
Yes, and no.

Tomos and nabile survived the traps their own way, while the other desert scarabs are still figuring out the weakness of the mummies... some says they're blind...
Where did he find it? No discreit to Apranum, bt if we have more people looking at it, we may discover something else.

My musings:
TNT did mention in the Editorials that there would be parts that will be "super-ultra-extra hard to solve," so maybe this theory that's floating around about the Pyramid Puzzler really is a clue. Maybe you DO have to clear the entire thing or extract certain words from it to make a sentence (someone mentioned that earlier, about the sounds of certain words). In my opinion, nothing we've solved yet has truely been "super-ultra-exta" hard!
And one more thing.....has the source codes for all the sites we've discovered been double checked? Like the fortune teller, the Ruki's furnature area, the repository, the gift shop, etc....I've viewed them again today, but I don't really know what to look for....
Thu Oct 06, 2005 2:57 pm
Hmmm, I've never played that game with the sound on before. I'm guessing the "code" is a sentence that we have to figure out.
We should start compiling a list of those tinging words...
I've got to head off to work soon, but when I get back I'll play around with WP. But until then, if anyone knows any tinging words, please post them!
Oh, and I know someone said that "don't" is a tinging word. Does anyone know of any phrases having to do with the LDP that have the word "don't" in them? Yeah, that's vague, I know, but anything now could be helpful.

Well, all of the words "ting," and the neopet related words have a slightly different "ting." I didn't get a chance to try out the word "dont" to see if it tinged at all, but I also did NOT come across any other words while playing that didn't make a sound. If I come across them, of course I'll post them.
....back to the game......

they don't even recognize RUKI as a word on word pyramid
AND
DONT definately makes the special "ting"... interesting
should we list words we've tried?

I had the same experience with don't as well. Letters also did the special ting, but that may be because of the name of the game.
I was getting frustrated at the number of words they don't recognize. Perfectly respectable ones like kelp and unit (though I suppose I could understand unit...).

I've played WP a couple of times and remember that the word "meridell" made the "ting" sound. "pet" or "pets" also makes a ting sound. Don't remember correctly which one it was, but those two are easy words so someone must be able to check it

Yes, the word "dont" definitely makes a "ting" sound. I tried certain words like "riddle" and "puzzle" but they just tinged like normal.....
It did not accept the word "clap," but it did accept "hi." I wonder why?

I tried "pet" and "pets" and it made a standard ding.
Also tried scroll, brave, and fight. Those were totally stabs in the dark.
Edit: Clue and Clues did nothing either.

Could it be more that it wasn't a part of their dictionary? Granted the dictionary is not one of the biggest features, it may not have been added to that database.

Of course the didn't add it to the dictionary, but why not? Why not "clap" either? I'm not saying those are clues, but why not enter such basic words? Weird!

the thing is you are supposed to get the special ding (and bonus points) for all neopian-related words. So just about all the species work and get you special points (note, I haven't tried ALL, but have tried many)... so why doesn't ruki work? could be nothing.
dont is the ONLY non-neopian word that dings with the special tone. Is it a coincidence that DONT could be a word often used in an instruction, or clue?? I just played and tried MANY common words (TAKE, MAKE, LET, HAVE, WAIT). If DONT is part of a clue, we should all try to play and just make word after word and pay close attention to any words that signal the special sound.

Granted they're dependant on the users to submit these words, it wouldn't surprise me if a few simple words have been overlooked all this time.

Who knows. I play all of the word games religiously and I am always amazed at how many simple, straightforward words they don't include.
Elive Thade is a dictionary nightmare of its own variety!
Anyways, I am trying to get "scarab" in WP. See if that does anything...
