How you get a ranking is weird. The game I play takes about 10-20 mins to get a good score,but I died pretty fast with a low score and sent it in 5 mins before the hour wa sover. 2 mins later, I got a map piece for getting 2nd place and I wasn't even trying. =/

Person I knocked off must be annoyed. Games do differ though.

I keep getting the same stupid map pieces. 3 times I got the same piece. I'm guessing I should keep all my pieces on my map to stop that, right?

Ya, you should do that.
Then, you'll get the pieces that you don't already have.

Is it just me? Or have they changed the "rules" to the World Challenges now?

It seems if I have the high score for a game ... and I am "above the line" to receive a piece ... I no longer get 2 pieces for that game. I get only 1.

Or this just me and bad luck with last minute scores being processed?

Oh... is that what happened? Hmm... I only got one neomail a couple of hours ago for the highest score... I had to leave 15 mins before that hour was up, but i was in the lead with wins

Xena, I've never gotten more than one piece, regardless of placing first, having the highest score/most wins. I have no idea how that works!

Actually, even though I do enter the WC (just for a few games - I truly stink at most games), I still don't completely understand the mysteries of scoring/ranking - and the sometimes big delay in processing scores, along with the "too high" score review that's never even CLOSE to the actual high score table!

Carnival of Terror is the only one I have a problem with - anything 2000 or more it's an instant review, and it's one of the few games (that I play) that doesn't show what your score is as you play.

If it's bad luck, then it's getting me too. I should have got two pieces today for both Volcano Run and Faerie Bubbles, but I only got the "high score" piece for each. At first I thought maybe someone pushed me off the chart at the last minute, but now I'm not so sure.

I do know that this used to happen sometimes and was a glitch. I'm hoping that's the case again, because if they changed it and I can no longer earn my two pieces per hour, I'm going to be very annoyed.

I'll be annoyed as well. Hopefully it is just a glitch and not the new system. It will be sad to not be getting 2 pieces during the hour for those games. I'm pretty sure that is what is happening, though.

In other "glitches" ... I have never gotten an event message for a "high score piece" ... I only ever get the new mail icon in the left corner if I get one for placing "above the line" Although, I do always have an actual message saying I received the "top score" piece ... I never get the notification. This has been happening ever since I started playing in these world challenges, though.

Yeah, that's always happened to me, too. I wish they just wouldn't send the neomails at all... I hate having to go in and delete them every hour.

Well I just checked my pieces and I certainly didn't get a second piece that hour... (no neomail or piece, therefore).

And the bad news is that there are usually few players in Mootix Drop. I've found 3 of us that got 3 wins that hour (5 NST today). Going by our opponents, there are 4 opponents the three of us played, making a total of 7 players... and that would be 3 people getting pieces + 1 piece for high score.

There's the slightlest chance that there was a 8th and 9th player who only got matched against each other and 3 times in an hour. But my name is first alphabetically before the other two real people with three wins, so it's unlikely that I would have been kicked off the high score part...

It's definitely only giving one piece per hour. I just tested it -- there was no way I could have been kicked below the line at the last second on Volcano Run this past hour, and yet I only got my "highest score" piece (and neomail). Grrrrr.

I think I might as well go to bed. I'm not going to complete the Neopia Central again tonight without staying up late...

They've changed the WC a half dozen times since it's been released. I don't recall any new announcements

I'm really not interested in becoming superbly proficient at other games

Neopia Central, I believe. You can probably snag pieces cheaper one at a time through the shop wiz rather than as a full set through the post, too.
