Our 4th of July was okay. The Boston Pops were really horrible this year, they didn't show anything! The third of July was better cause I saw fire works with my friend. I hadn't seen them in some time & forgot how loud they were...lol.

In the morning, I read all the editorial columns I could, and then at night we drove down to the suburbs where we were surrounded by fireworks. There were a couple puffballs arranged to look like the Death Star (or maybe that was an accident) and some cool rings and I really like the ones the split up into four pieces. We also threw some Pop-Its into the road. We tried to light sparklers but the paper kept snuffing out the matches and we eventually gave up because we looked very much like terrorists.
But really, the major part was the editorial columns. This one guy said to replace every reference in the Declaration to the colonies with "African-Americans" and every reference to King George III with "America" to get an idea of the scope of things... in other words, we're forcing blacks to meet in places such as Florida, sending armies against them, raping and pillaging them, and ignoring any feedback they give the government. Bit overblown, y'think? And then there was the standard Libertarian spiel that I agree with but I can't say I wasn't expecting. And so forth. I do love to yell at the editorial page, and July 4 is an excellent opportunity.

No. No. No.
I went to work, had an absolutely miserable evening, and then went home. It wouldn't have been quite so bad if it didn't take nearly 30 minutes to get home because of all the traffic. I live five minutes from the store I work at. I was sitting about 50 feet from my house in a traffic jam, because people are impatient and have to rush through the neighborhoods to "avoid the firework traffic". If that wasn't bad enough, my neighbor's set their lawn on fire with fireworks. It would have been purely stupidity if it weren't for the fact that fireworks are illegal within city limits here. So, not only did they risk setting their newly purchased home on fire, but they always took the risk of setting our lawn and house on fire. They sure are making a great impression on their new neighbors. I am still insanely cranky after last night, if that wasn't noticable already.}

I did not set any fire works off myself. Unless you count smoke bombs and sparklers as fire works. BTW- Smoke bombs are AWESOME. You light them, and then colored smoke starts coming out of them. Way cool.
The sparklers were colored, and that was nice. Very pretty.
We also had a mini barbeque... we took our $30 dollar grill and made some bratwurst and burgers. Yum.
And then we went to go see fire works in a city about half an hour away. They were amazing! Truly enjoyable.
Then we went home and watched the fire works in St. Louis on television. The river front fire works are always awesome, but crowded, so we just watch them on television.
And then we went to bed. And that concluded my 4th of July celebrations.

I don't need to set off fireworks because I have the best location in town to see fireworks. I can see my towns fireworks from my house and fireworks from 2 other towns near here. And I have a few neighbors that have their own fireworks shows that are practically as good as my towns.

3: nope. By the time we got back in the house, it was 12:30. The only thing I watched on TV was Spirit and I listened to WayFM on Sky Angel.
