Grey Meerca Pie... I was thinking that, too. Perhaps it's foreshadowing a new food item on the way. (Unless there already is such a thing as Grey Meerca Pie.)

Anyway, I dislike the Grey Meerca. I think the Grey Ixi really gets the 'emotion' of the whole Grey concept across best.

Gelert is just... well IMO the best gelert pet. It's cool. And I think it conveys grey; but the grey ixi is pretty cool too.
They both look like they've had all the life sucked out of them...
suits my moody artist self.

The gelert and ixi are definitely the best grey pets, although I like the kougra (well, mostly just the circle and sad poses) and yurble too.

Most of the recent grey pets just haven't been up to the same standard. The new meerca is especially bad, because not only does it not look depressed enough, but it also looks lumpy and misshapen and has too-thick lines.

Ugh, it looks like a wet peice of crete paper :loser: The Meerca needs a redraw!

It's GREAT !!! I love it. I may get one... I like esp the Scratches. It looks so real... and cartoony

I don't like it because it's to bland compared to the other grey pets above. It's eyes are red enough, it's sad but it's just like...a ball of gray clay in this drawing.

Well.. what more do you expect? It's a Meerca, for the love of Ra. O.o';

Sometimes you guys are too critical about what you think is good or bad. I mean... like I said, it's a -Meerca-. Of course it's going to look like a lump. It's a depressed fluffball. O.o'

^^"; My only problem with the Meerca is the shorter tail in the beaten pose, but whatever. The slightly thicker lines in places aren't that bad on the grey Meerca.

Well, here's a meerca that isn't fugly.

-link removed-

I don't think it's too critical when the simple fact is that there wasn't any time spent attempting to improve an awful species. And when something as incredible as the mutant meerca is available, it'd serve to reason that Grey would at least be somewhat decent.

Inrun Edit: Please don't post artists work in the general chat without their permission.

Did the artist ask for the link to be removed? If so, I do apologize and would have removed it myself. Neocolours is a public forum and I'd hardly presume to think that merely posting a link to their thread would be an issue. I'm sorry this isn't in a pm, but I don't know who Inrun is and I can't find any posts under that name when I run a search.

Slight slight "revamp"/update to the faerie meerca - possibly a tiny update to meercas as a whole on the way?

Just a little art update :) Circle pose looks a lot better now I think, far less flat :D

Bah...Faerie meerca would have been cooler with a total redraw,s ince it seems TNT wants faerie ets to be redraws nowadays.

Glowing bori is just...nice. I mean it's really golowing. I like it,but noting to cheer about.

The Grey Meerca, I like the circle pose alot. But they really should revamp the whole thing. Look at other grey pets, like my favorite one for example, the Grey Kougra.
They need to do more than splash grey on it and call it sad. Case closed.

The faerie Meerca looks way better. Personally, I like the Meerca. Not love, like with the Krawk, or an intense like such as with the Lupe, but I like them enough. My first really-really-expensive pet was a faerie Meerca that my brother abandoned, and I just haven't had the heart to adopt another Meerca. If they're redrawn to resemble the new faerie a bit more (round, rather than pregnant-bellied, with cheeks and shading and a tail that doesn't appear to be growing out of their butts) I might get one again.

o_O People are far too hard on paintjobs nowadays. Whatever happened to imagining a pet the way you liked it? Just because TNT says the Meerca is a shapeless blob, doesn't mean it has to be. There was an NT comic a few weeks ago where the Meerca looked a lot like a hamster with a long tail; I'm pretty sure that's what they're intended to be.

Wow. Very nice. They're a lot more chubby now too. I can tell it in the face.

I've noticed alot more chubbier pets recently, I don't really like them all chubby. It just looks.... a bit worse. I liked skinny neopets! :(

Gahhhhhh Meerca day crept up on me, I finished drawing my pic for the AG a month ago, and figured I had plenty of time to add a background. Managed to slap on a green bg with crappy grass with photoshop just now. I don't even know HOW to use photoshop... :( I hope I get in, I worked hard on the actual pic... just hope submitting it the day before isn't too late.
In other news the new Faerie Meerca looks cute, though I think it could be better. IMO they need to just go the way of the Koi and get a complete redesigning. The face is creepy. And the tail is always used as a prop, and used stupidly (i.e. angry and sad poses).
