Item Duping

i'll say... It's an utter mad-house in the boards... all to imagine all this happened when I was doing my banner

So far, i've seen F-neggs, baby pbs, tears, and a whole lot more being duped...

TNT is on the job now freezing a lot of accounts currently...

I know I'm not the only one who went there looking to snag one. The trading post is filled with alot of people begging TNT to delete their slingshots.

I think there's a good chance alot of people won't have anything deleted. Does anyone remember when all those meepit lamps were given out and not erased? I don't think alot of these will be erased. I don't think they can.

I do hope taht they do fix the way these poeple are dupplicating the items, though. I also hope this doesn't become a bigger problem than it already is.

They could always nerf the item itself, but that wouldn't be fair to the people who worked for them...

I wonder who's bright idea it was to start duping items. A lot of innocent people are going to end up being frozen. ._.

Luckily I haven't been buying/selling anything, and neither have any of my friends.. just hope everyone gets warned about this..

The Meepit Lamps were an entirely different problem. They were not duped items, but were a result in the Mystery Pic mailer glitching. They do have the power to remove duplicated items, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were pruged from the system.

Well, trying to be optimistic here, when these duplications occur, it helps a lot with inflation. Shame it has side effects such as freezings of innocent people and the like.

This is bigger than t-tears, fqd, grey pb -- even the most mundane items have been duped. I mean like snowballs and omelettes! This seems to me to have been carefully planned, really. One of the accounts that donated 17 FQD to the money tree had a starting date in 2001.

What I have done is block everything; taken the np from my shop till and banked it (with screenies); repriced all the items in my shop to 0; and finally filled my inventory with 51 junky items. That way no one can send me anything.

If you're going to do any shopping (which I would probably not do just in case of a rollback - being rumored), I would try to restock from the main Shops or only buy something from someone you really trust.

Staff does know, they did respond/lock a board on the BD and already ALOT of people have been iced. So, again, if you've gotten anything from the money tree, a "too good to be true" bargain in a shop/auction/tp - don't use it/sell it/trade it. I would put it in a trade with a note to TNT and also write to support. If you know the username where the item came from all the better.

Which really smurfs for anyone who is a legitimate reseller or restocker. *grumble*

My guess is that they will do a rollback. I have taken an inventory of all items in my shop, SDB, and bank. And, am crossing my fingers.

What amuses me are the idiots who are still buying this stuff. Someone just put in their shop 99 Thyoras Tears for 75K - ALL of them sold out.

I sense a rollback.

And to think this all started somewhere around a person who was 'quitting' and decided to put a scuzzys comb and some stuff buyable in his shop >>;

Jeeze I think I counted 37 duped Faerie Slingshot trades begging to be deleted. Plus quite a few that were actually requesting money/items. I just hope TNT doesn't freeze them, just take it all away. If I wasn't a member of PPT I wouldn't know... just isn't fair...
But wow, *37*?? Kinda funny... in a kind of ironic way... not trying to poke fun with cheaters, just... yeah. o.o
Does anyone know how duplicating works? I'm kinda curious, though I would obviously never try it even if by some chance in a billion I actually understood it.

I have been on the Money Tree collecting junk when I saw (and missed) a ferocious negg, so i figured going to this site to see what is going on, and there, items are being duped without me knowing. So being paranoid, I blocked my NF and items sent options, and sent all the junk items I got from the tree.

I am not afraid of a rollback as I have just been playing Plushie Tycoon since I logged in 6 hours ago. I just hope the rollback won't affect the items I have before the glitch.

Please if you have gotten anything, especially expensive items, notify TNT. I was just told that you can't discard uber expensive things like FSS.

I feel so badly for anyone innocent who got something. And the staff! Oh what a mess for them to try to clean up. Wishes I could send them vats of coffee, mountains of doughnuts to help keep them going and huge bouquets to thank them for all their hard work.
