every day i lose np, although i follow all the ppt reccomended rules. my account is slowly going down the drain!!!

Make a new email account but someplace other than yahoo or hotmail and make the password very hard to guess with numbers and capital letters and lowercase letters. Make it as long as you are allowed to make it. Also, go into where your pet's information is and make a list of all books they have read. Try to make a list of everything in your SDB now and any other things you can think of that you can do to prove this is your own account. I think someone must have a way to get the password from your email. If they have hacked into your email you can change your password to neopets as often as you like and they still can get the password sent to them. So I think you need to put an entirely new email address there. If you are worried about people getting your money, you might try to convert it into other things and make a secondary account. For example, you could find something that would sell easily and buy it and send it over to another account or something. If you do make a new account, do not make it have the same email you use for this one or even the same new one. Make a new email address for that. If all else fails you may want to change your ISP email as well because someone may have access to that too.

Daily activities gradually drain your money. You lose more np from dailies than you gain. You may not notice it, but they'll make your np supply go down quite fast.

I'm sorry to hear that! If you can't change your email, all I can say is what has already been said. Use your remaining NP to restock/buy ETS items and send them to a spare-- transfer any painted/rare pets there for the time being if possible. Change your P/W to something hard, like EEgh679io0oP (but don't use this one-- make up your own!). Don't write it down if you're worried family members will login to your account. And if all else fails-- transfer what you can to a spare and self-freeze your main.

It really sounds like it's someone who knows you. They're not changing your email or password? They're just taking your np?

Are you using a public (library/school/web cafe) computer?

I'd clear my internet - cookies, temporary internet, history and also run scans of a/v and spyware just to be sure nothing's lurking. Then go change your password again and don't let anyone ever know it.

If you have to use a public computer, be aware of who's around you. I've heard of cases where someone was sitting close, watched a person log in and got their password that way! Also be sure to always log out and clear the cookies on that computer. You should be able to do that regardless of what computer you're using.

It's a shame you can't have another email that could be used just for Neo., something like a gmail account. It's free, it is a web-based email, but it sure seems to be alot more secure than hotmail (I'd never use a hotmail email). Yahoo I guess could have problems, but I don't personally know anyone with a yahoo email that's had it cracked. My roomie's hotmail on the other had was cracked and the person who did it got her credit card info and went shopping!

Do you and your sister use the same computer? If so, you need to clear your cookies every time you're done playing. Sometimes if 2 people are playing on the same computer, the cookies get mixed up for Neopets, even though the 2nd person logs onto his or her own account.

my sister thinks a cookie, is well, a cookie. like chocolate chips. she doesnt know HTML, so it DEFINATLY isnt her, and i dont use public computers....

EDIT: the hacker is gone, i have never been so happy!
