I disliked the things that CCC/ASP/Gnome/whoever was doing it were doing with the names. It got quite confusing when people would all take one name or switch names. It was funny when it happend with Mal and kinda OK with Cheese, but after awhile it just got annoying.
Thats what I thought as well. I couldn't see any reasons to promote otherwise. oO
