Just to magnify the unfairness, I had a pet with the 125 boost, about 250 hp, SoS, HP, and other decent weaps. I got about 100 points.
And-Oh, my friend also lent me a FSS for the war.
I was rank 2. That should sum it up.

By this do you meant that it can't be put in the Neohome at all, or just that the text does't show in the overhead view?

Moringstar, you seem like a nice person. I am sorry to hear about your daughter and what happened.
Atleast we can hope that the next war is done better.

I totally agree with morningstar. The fact is, Neopets doesn't know the dynamics of their own game nor do they care. They're running a business and can afford to turn a deaf ear to complainers. Being at the bottom of rank 2, I don't even have to tell you how disappointed I am. On top of that, my poor mom happened to do one supporter quest that she was never awarded points for. After that, the items were just too expensive to buy.
The only good thing I can say about this war was the plot (and artwork) was excellent. But that's about it.

You can place it in your home, it just shows up as that obnoxious little yellow box.

Let's sere, I got the sidebar, a garon negg (sorry for mangling the spelling) Isca pull along toy, tee shirt, and 3 keyrings.
I tryed to feed one to my newly adopted garrl one of those keyrings and he said
says 'Yuck! Im not eating one of those!
Even he knows common sense

I'm not taking a stab at anyone who got their zillions of points, Morningstar, I'm just saying this war worked to the point of where boredom set in and most folks reached a point where the "fun" in the war got too repetitive.
That and the ranking system. How the HECK do those people determine rank?
I turned down 9 supporters quests and was, somehow, regarded as rank 2. Other people I've spoken to turned down the same number of quests as I did and somehow were placed as Rank 4. Incidentally, I have 1.1 million NP in the bank (expenditures, expenditures, what kind of excuse will I come up with next? XD), 4 pets (3 females, 1 male) that are a Ruki, 2 Shoyrus and a Lupe (yay Lab Ray!). I still don't understand how the smeg I got placated as Rank 2.
And my wholehearted agreement with Mecurius - TNT do not understand the basics of their own creation, at least not to the point where they are putting themselves in our shoes and feeling the crunch we're all in. It's a business to them, the green dollar is about all they give a smeg about anymore.
Truth is, I saw this coming.
I was hoping with all my heart that this situation would change. I was, unfortunately like the rest of Neopia, reminded that money talks and if you can't pay up, they don't care.

Neopets should have done their homework on this one and I don't care what anyone says, they screwed up big time here. And not just with the ranking (which was totally stupid), but with the support system and, most of all, with their timing. OK, you have tons of high school and college kids who play and you start the war right as these school kids have finals? And end it on a Friday--the Friday that most kids in the US finished school--instead of the following Monday. Totally moronic--think of all of the extra revenue Neopets would have gotten if it had continued the war through the weekend. Kids, out of school, who could finally fight would have been online, looking at the stupid ads, and earning revenue for Neopets. Not a smart move.
I was very lucky. I found one game where I could scrape by and get the minimum 500 nps. And, I got 4 war tokens as RE's. But, I was lucky. I smurfed at all of the other games and absolutely refused to pay 150K for a request so I could get two points. No way.
I only wish that I could have bought that sidebar for my daughter and anyone who was unable to get even one point in the war. Because I really gave a smurf about my total points or my trophy. Because too many others were not as fortunate.
Neopets should have given that sidebar to anyone who signed up--whether they got a point or not. So not fair to dangle it in front of them and then smack them in the face because they were unable to get the required 1 np for the thing. Would have been very different if Neo had even mentioned this requirement at the onset of the war. But, they didn't, natch.
They gave prizes to people in the last war who got zero points--why not this war as well? I mean, after all, what harm is there in giving people who signed up the sidebar, for goodness sake?
I could go on and on and on about this--but I won't. I am just too disgusted.
MorningStar, you're once spot on on all the rotten apples TNT threw at us in this war. The timing is especially terrible. They started the whole thing a week before my exams, and ended it during it :/ If I was still be able to play I'd probly screw up in my exams because of it....Now I don't know if it's a bliss to have my account frozen wrongly like that
I agree with the sidebars should've been given to ALL who signed up. I couldn't get a singe point but I really like to get the sidebar neverthelss
All is not well done in this war...

Firstly: I just wanted to post a quick comment about Supporter's Rank vs. NP on hand. I ended up rank 2, but had only around 19k NP when I signed up for the war, and had maybe 23k total when the war actually started. According to everyone else I've read, that shouldn't have placed me in rank two if the current theory is correct.
I did actually have more NP available (I resell tons of stuff and my shop was full but not priced), so I managed to do a few of the 200k+ quests. Always 2-3 items, and always some strange ungent or unbuyable book.
Yeah, that's right, I was stupid enough to do them. And I get keychains! Wheeee I always wanted one of those!
You know, the absolute number one problem with ANY online game, is lack of customer support, and lack of communication with customers. I say customers because we are paying, if not through premium than through merchandise, or those funny little (actually huge) banners that adorn every page. I have seen very good games completely fall apart within a matter of months because economics, software bugs, player complaints, were not fixed or even addressed.
This is what beta testing is for! When you make a huge economical or combat change to a game, whether through a patch or event, you test it first. With SO many people playing this game, it would be very easy to find enough volunteers who would be willing to be shunted to another server temporarily, tested and give feedback. Or why not hold an open test? Have no *real* points awarded, but see where they would amass and spot out potential problems. I can think of a 'mistake' in the last war that also would have benifited from proper testing.
This game has needed to clean house for years, and I don't see it happening soon.... however I really hope someone wakes up enough to think, 'Wow, someone spent 1million nps for a few keychains that everyone and their aisha will have! I wouldn't be happy If I were them.'
Lack of communication between staff and players is slowly strangling this game.
Funny thing is, once this war drama dies down a bit, things will go back to same old same old. Instead of being outraged and leaving, we'll all be back here, gossiping and dreading the next potentially disasterous move.
It's too late to fix things now, isn't it? They could have added more ranks, or scaled the point distribution, or for that matter the points per prizes.
And what was it, 4 days, 5 days, before the supporters even had the option of cancelling a quest only once a day? Oh, and anyone else remember for that period of time it was 1k points scored, and not 500 in the games?
And the war tokens - A lot of people never even heard of them. I saw a few galleries that had 5-10 each just sitting there. How Random can Random Events get, eh?
My labrat would have gotten me some nifty prizes, and I wouldn't have had to wait over 23 hours just to have the chance to shell out another 200-300k. To then have it tell me I wasn't trying very hard.

I would've killed for that sidebar, but I don't have the NP to buy myself even one point.

Are the war tokens worthless now? I found 2 in my SDB, you are welcome to one, for the sidebar.

Since most functions related to the war have been shut down, they're worthless unfortunatly.

I don't see what's funny about it
Must we go into what backseat modding is again?

Oh, no no. I'm not trying to do anything of the nature, just I find humor in it that your perty much the HeadMod around here (least you have a Red name while others have Orange.) and being the headmod posting in a Eleven Page topic, I'd just came to expect it be locked andreborn.
