I'll probably try it for a little bit. But I have to say one thing. It seems to me like TNT is trying to find all different ways around having a completely free site. Soon it'll be "Sure the site is free, but it has 20 ads on every pages, malware and spyware, and people get free stuff every week using the cell phone game and the premium services. But yeah, the site is free..."

I have another question.

How the heck are you supposed to read the site on a cell phone? o.o

It sounds interesting, but I hope that it isn't too expensive. I might actually try it if it's not. ;)

While you can read actual sites on some PDAs, I doubt that it will be the same thing as the site. What it will be, we'll have to wait and see

I see Today Tonight doing another story on this one...this time about mobile bills going through the smeggin' roof, or something similar.

New pet, huh? You already have to release this reptillian beast and the Lutari. Focus please, TNT - you can't run a plot onsite, 2 new pets onsite, a mobile service and a new pet for that service all at once.

From experience, juggling this could end up with one side not being happy and the other side brandishing pitchforks about the Maraquan plot again ending up delayed/lame/not finished at all (Guildmaster's Dinner, anyone?). This just reeks of their planning department releasing things without thinking about the possible impact upon both parents who have kids with phones (and the potential nightmare of the billing process) and us who play the site and the daily/weekly content.

I could just be rambling on with the pain I'm in currently, but this, without good planning/billing system/responsible parents could very well bankrupt them.

I do hope they have a failsafe plan if something does go wrong. I'm not very impressed with their timing.

I went to a focus group a few months ago (about "some sort of toolbar to aid navigation" or a type of pay email service (they asked us for ideas on what the @ to be.... everyone adamantly said no to @neopets) they also lightly touched on a Neopets on the cellphone which most people thought would be neat... as well as an idea for a Neopets movie which everyone seemed to dislike) Anyway, I just got another notice for a focus group about "Cell phones" Here's a part of the email...

"NeoPets is looking for a special group of loyal users in the Los Angeles, California area to participate in a special project to help Neopets better understand the cell phone usage patterns of our members. You would be participating along with several other Neopets members in this focus group if you are selected. The focus group will be held in Marina Del Ray, near Los Angeles International Airport on March 26, 2005."

Unfortunately, I have a reservation at Club33 at Disneyland on that day which I simply will not miss. The first one I went to was awesome, though... they gave us donuts and drinks then when we entered the bugged conference room we talked about various things about the website (ie the toolbar and email service). All of that then they gave us a bag with the Neopets magazine, a Neopet plushie, a petpet plushie, some stickers, a notepad and a few other things as well. PLUS a whopping $50 paycheck... man I love America 8)

I didn't sign any confidentiality papers so I'm pretty sure it was ok to share all of that.

Awesome dlfreak!

I can see it now: Neopians lining up to join the focus group, ready to act like mental patients in order to convince them NOT to install ad-bars and more flash ads.

EDIT: Just noticed how old this post was  Was directed to it from a current thread ;)

No worries, it happens to everyone at some point. We'll just lock the door behind us so no one else stumbles in, eh? ;)
