New lenny is up...

Fri Apr 22, 2005 1:43 am

Ever since Kreludor was discovered, Dr. Sloth needed some way to attract more tourists to his space station. He decided that a casino was the way to go, and had a Grundo inventor build a slot machine for it.

The way this slot machine worked, there were nine wheels, each wheel with six letters, and the letters on the wheels had to spell one Neopian word in order to win the 30 million Neopoint jackpot. While the Grundo inventor was assembling the machine he dropped the wheels...

He managed to keep all of the wheels in order except for the last one; he wasn't sure where that wheel went in the whole scheme of things.

The first wheel had the letters I, J, R, G, B, and N.
The second wheel had the letters Q, W, Z, R, P, and L..
The third wheel had the letters Y, D, S, W, G, and T.
The fourth wheel had the letters U, O, I, A, E, and Y.
The fifth wheel had the letters S, L, P, K, R, and T.
The sixth wheel had the letters W, E, D, Z, B, and C.
The seventh wheel had the letters S, P, U, J, T, and A.
The eighth wheel had the letters D, L, W, F, N, and S.

...and the last wheel had the letters V, K, T, Y, Z, and J.

What Neopian word do the wheels have to spell in order to win the jackpot?

Been up for about 10 min or so....

Well, I'm lost here...

EDIT: Gah... someone JUST beat me to it... :P

Does the puzzle mean the the last wheel could go anywhere, or the letters on it need to be rearranged? o_O

Fri Apr 22, 2005 1:54 am

Got it... it's actually really easy if you just look around... and you don't need to go too far. *cough*

What the puzzle means is that these nine wheels are going to be put in the slot machine, all in a row. The player will spin it, and one letter from each wheel will come up. If the nine letters spell out a Neopian word, in order, that player will win 30 million NP. What we have to figure out is the word those wheels could spell. We know the order of eight of those wheels, but you have to figure out where the ninth wheel belongs and then enter the word the wheels will make.

Got it too. In fact, it's virtually only a step away.

That was really easy. The hint given by Marshmallow Sky is a good one, though I got it by myself. :D

someone just gave the position of the unknown wheel on the boards so I have a feeling the answers are pouring in now....

Got the answer though no confirmation from others.Good hint ;)

Oh well. The NP award will be tiny, but I hope some of us get the prize. It usually fetches a few thousand NP, at least.

They make the logic puzzles too easy sometimes, I think. They should require more digging, you know? Some people solved this one just a couple minutes after it came out.

How do you guys keep getting these so easily? xD "You don't have to look far" could mean anything for me. Blarg.

Pay close attention to the wording of this clue, and the content of the LC, and you shouldn't really have any problem. I got it in two seconds without even really thinking.

Phew, I think I got it... probably not in top 250 though...

OMG I GOT IT! First time. <3 Your right. It was easy and you don't have to look far.

Got the back half of it right away. I kick myself for not getting the first part just as quickly. No av for me, but at least there's the nps. All 2 of them! :P

One particular clue, which I shall not name, pretty much bagged it for me.

One question. When will I know if I got it right?
