British Pound Sterling. The exchange rate is currently at about £1 = $1.90

The rest of Europe, more or less, has the Euro, but we're unlikely to get it any time soon. SHame, really... *shrugs*

Yup it's still the british pound and I personally hope it stays that way :D

Yeah, partly my fault but we're veering a bit off topic ;)

To be honest, the only reason I'd get Neopets Premium is for the games. Partly becuase I love playing games and partly because Games Previews would be a cool topic for my PI articles. Still, £5 per month for a game I don't play that much any more is a bit expensive.

Do you know how long it will take until anyone can sign up? o_O

Whenever I see topics like this, everyone fails to mention the yearly rate, which saves you over $20 USD. Yearly rate is $69.95 USD, which is much cheaper than buying it monthly.

The only problem is, if you pay for a year and then get frozen, you don't get a refund. I also wouldn't think they'd refund you if you decided to cancel, though I don't know for sure.

And no, Zania, no one knows when it will be open to the general public. I've called the tech support hotline and asked, and the guy I talked to says they have no idea. He said he's been working there for 4 months and HE doesn't even have Premium yet.

At th moment, the only currencies that are higher then the U.S Dollar are the Brittish Pound and the Euro.

Now if I lived there....

Money is worth the same no matter where you live :P If you exchange your Australian Dollars for Euros, you'd still have the same amount in US Dollars.

That doesn't take into account how much the value of the currency changes. My mom's friend used to live in South Africa(I think), and before she moved she sold her house, but then couldn't leave the country right away, and the value of the money decreased a lot in that time. So she kept the same amount of money, but it was worth less than before.

Yeah, but if I lived there it would create the illusion that I was only paying 3 pounds or something.

Heh.

WHAT! I wouldn't pay to use Neopets. I mean first of all they're paid to advertise banners and now they're charging people to take them away. What will they think of next, actually using real money instead of NP?

I remember back in the ol' days when Neopets said they wouldn't even use banners.... Pfffft !

I know! They are all on about how great it is because it's free FREEEEE!!!!

I think the Neopets Tem is just getting too greedy for words now. They think they are sooooo great because they are gazilionares!

There was an interesting thing on jellyneo about premium - there was a focus group about it and lots of people have made suggestions for how to make premium better (family plans of families or people with 5 accounts or more, a special avatar, some web tools for easy customization of userlookups, the chance to play games that aren't in beta testing before others, an increase of random events, more free neopoints) ..and cheaper ($40 a year) :)

Here's hoping they take those opinions on board because seriously, if they do I am signing up :D

Credit to jellyneo for all that =)
