neopets is so mean....
making pets as a joke kind of back fires... because most of them are better than the ones we actually are stuck with...
I don't see them releasing any of these but I'm still hoping

If you really want to get a laugh or two, check out the usernames and pet names that correspond to the names of the new pets. For instance, when you look up Polaflint the Yellow Lupe, you find that it has a picture of the new polaflint with a statement saying "Someday, I will look like this" above it. If you look up the user Caramariller, you are told "shame it's an april fools day joke" with a picture of the new caramariller on the user look up. Many of these usernames were created today with no pets--obviously the work of the Neopets team--and many of those that weren't seem to be in on the joke as well.

I'm not quite sure where you're coming from- the Leofinn is clearly just sticking together 'Leo' (lion) and 'fin' (for the fish side) while the Codyber is named after the president (like Teddybear is named after the president Teddy). Carmariller maybe, but it's a bit of a stretch....
As for which I want to keep- I really really REALLY want that Llama. The Varwolf looks like it should be a proper pet (although I wouldn't get one myself) and the Nikondrak would be cool to have too (again, I wouldn't adopt one, but it fits the neopets style and I bet they'd be popular with some audiences).

Both Leo and Cody are male names. Perhaps there are TNT staffers named Cody and Leo?

Yeah, I just looked all of them up and a lot does have the picture of the new "pets" in them.
Notice that the more familiar names (like Swaq) were already taken so they just edited the pet page of that person and added "part of neopet's april fool's joke."

Yea a lot of these pets DO look a lot better than the "real" ones. Some of them are sketchy but a lot of them have so much more detail in them. It's kind of sickening really.

Maybe they are actually making all these pets. They put all these things that make them look fake. Then when we all think that it is fake, they actually make them adoptable and they'd be like "what?" That would be awesome. I really hope they do that. That would be the ultimate April Fools Joke!
