This is not an advertisement for the site I am staff on but they posted a help to get rid of banner ads on top, WRITTEN BY US. If anyone wants it go to that site, it is on the front page somewhere.

NOTE TO MODS: If this is a bill thing sorry about that, please delete my post then. I thought since this is adblocking kill board that I could post it.

Hit Ctrl + V to paste the addresses. Add "127.0.0.1 a.tribalfusion.com" to the list. Once you're done, hit "Save."

You have to understand that some of us are running web servers on our computers ;). In that case, you should route it to a non-routeable address, such as 255.255.255.255.

Less ads i guess... TNT are really going too far this time. Guess we have to do it ourselves.

However, is it counted as cheating? Will we get frozen for this ?

Thanks :)

And no, this is definately not considered cheating. TNT have no way of finding out that you are blocking the ads. If I were you though, I wouldn't tell the Neoboards that you block the ads, or mention it on the site at all, since TNT are giving warnings to users that tell others how to block the ads. But otherwise, they have no way of konwing that you block the ads.

Besides, even the great Adam himself told us at PPT that we should use Firefox to not show the ads ;) I'm serious

Not to scare anyone, but it is POSSIBLE for neopets to track ads. The ads could be in an iframe that is at http://www.neopets.com/someadtrackingpage.phtml. Whenever you access that page, the ads in table 'personal' could be increased, and that could be compared to the number of pages visited. Of course, Neopets probably would never do this, as it would result in mass freezing, and would decrease their rank in sites to advertise in ;).[/quote]

What would be the adblock address I should enter to get rid of the ad I took a screen shot of below?

I tried blocking "http://oz.valueclick.com/redirect?host=*" when I got the ad last night, but it didn't work. :(

To tell you the truth in IE I dont notice any difference between blocking and unblocking the top ads in terms of lag

http://oz.valueclick.com/* so anything comming from that site is blocked

I'll try shortening it...but the weird thig was that the URL in the link that showed had the same address up to what I blocked. Don't know about after what I blocked since I obviously can't compare that part. :roflol:

Off to play neoquest and see if I get that ad again....
