Considering how much they boast their 8 figure revenue numbers they shouldn't need to use, let alone use the ads

There's no doubt that it breaches Neopets' copyrights. It also conflicts with Neopets' business interests if the teacup rides supplier is making money and Neopets do not get a share out of it.

Grundo is right -- and while Disney suffered some bad publicity from its suit (and the goal wasn't to get money, it was to have the unlicensed images removed; some other company gave the preschool/daycare permission to use its cartoon characters free), I'm not sure Dohring would care. After all, the suit probably wouldn't cause anyone to quit playing Neopets, and the publicity would bring in some curious people, some of whom would start playing . . . and adding pageviews that he can show off to his advertisers.
The ads are starting to make me believe that he isn't interested in the long-term viability of Neopets, but just immediate-future profits.

How many online gaming websites, however old, have you ever seen being advertised on TV? I definitely would find it weird if Gunbound, Maplestory, (insert other popular online games here) etc were advertised on TV.

But I play a few online games and I watch a lot of TV...
I'm sure also that those talking neopets have been in shops a while. Depends where you go out I guess...

-sigh- A year or so ago, a girl at my school used an image of a halloween lupe for an art contest. She said that she drew it. I got really mad, but no one believed me when I said it was a copyrighted picture, even though I had plenty of information to prove it.

I saw a full collection of neopets merchandise on a grocery store shelf. The shelfs were half empty I mean the shelf was really long. I freaked out and looked at all the plushies then buying one. xD It's was weird to me.
