The Ads... Why... (split)

Just got one browsing a user's look-up. I thought there weren't supposed to be ads here

Well, I figure pretty soon they'll be tatooing ads on pets' foreheads.

I don't play much anymore these days anyhow, so I don't really care anymore. The site's just gotten too disgusting. Marapets is lame, but at least they aren't so obviously trying to suck my brain out along with my money.

I am all to curious, but is there a way to block that text that says 'THIS PAGE CONTAINS PAID ADVERTISEMENTS'? Someone must know xD

If you used the Proxomitron (discussed a week back re: sidebars) you could set it to remove "THIS PAGE CONTAINS PAID ADVERTISEMENTS" from all pages from Neopets.

Heck, maybe I'll do that. The text doesn't really bother me that much -- but hey, just 'cause I can. :-)

I don't mind that phrase at all. Much better than the ads gone wild ... just got this one (and yes I did make it small)

(Eww, imageshack is doing weird things with images now!)

The ad itself never loaded, was apparently from the realmedia network. Now we're going to have the "boxy" ads on the top? o_O

I just got that one too, quite annoying I must say. I gave up waiting for it to load and just moved on. I never thought I would see the day when they would let the ads change the size of their bars so much. I wonder if we should contact them about it?

We have about 450 signatures right now, not including several I've had to delete due to inappropriate comments. I set the goal at 500, so we're very close. And by the way, if you don't believe that one girl can triumph against nearly impossible odds, you obviously haven't watched enough Disney movies.

Hm, I just had something strange happen to me.

While playing Dice-A-Roo, I was happening to look at the top banner ads for no particular reason. After awhile, it occured to me that I was seeing only Neopets ads - Potato Counter, Auctions, Bank, Neopian Times, stuff like that. You know - only leading to inside Neopet things.

So after my pet got bored of Dice-A-Roo, I started clicking around on random things. I still haven't seen a non-Neopet ad on the top. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the bottom, but, oh well.

Is this only happening to me, or does the fact that I am using the Valentine's Side Bar have something to do with it, do you think?

Twizzler, I have no idea if using a special sidebar would account for that or not. I can tell you, having been on my (soon to be closed - hopefully) gallery account that there are outside ads on the top AND the bottom ads are back in all their *cough* glory. Pages are back to taking forever to load. Sometimes I have to refresh the page to get something besides a huge yellow top and blank rest of the page.

That's why I'm slowly moving everything back to my main. Parting with my gallery pets will be very very hard

But I just can't take it.

No, no, no, you aren't getting me. I'm not seeing any ads that lead to off Neopet sites - like... the Find your High School Students or whatever it is. H & R Block, that type of thing. I am not seeing any of those, just ones that lead to Neopian games and Neopian Auctions, and Neopian Shops.

And the bottom ads are still normal.

Yea. You buy it, read until you're halfway through the book and then it says they discontinued the story due to "time constraints" and that they'll learn from their mistakes.
