we can trust them. it isnt there fault, really. It says its from neopets because neopets is hosting the banners..... its actually the BANNERS making those pop-ups, believe it or not......

Yeah...wasn't there a problem with the banners giving out spyware and popups awhile back, which was supposedly fixed? Hopefully it'll get fixed again.

Yay, I have officially lost trust in neopets. Of course, I will not quit, or never will, but I will just go by judgement from now on.

Does it still give out spyware? I dont know if its from neo but I run adware and seem to see the same names each time

I'm getting no popups and am running FireFox.

If it is coming from Neopets.com, I'm going to buy every pile of dung I possibly can and dumping it on all of the staff accounts, then giving the help board free paintbrushes, then I'll swear up a storm on the NeoBoards and never come back.

Runescape, anyone?

I get them ... but since I have adblock, they are blank. Still....it really really sucks! I only got two while playing Bilge Dice, so maybe they are spawning from just one advertiser. That was a lot of refreshed pages.

This is very strange. I am not getting ANY, and Firefox has not detected any spawners. I'm not going to make any quick judgements here, but this looks really bad nonetheless. If these ARE from Neopets.com itself, I'm doing what I said before.

Just to re-inforce what we have said before, there will never be any pop-ups, pop-unders, spyware, interstitials or anything like that on the site. We hate those as much as you do! Although the top 90 pixels will probably be some sort of ad, the rest will remain mostly ad-free. Also, the site will always remain free to play.

That whole quote is crap, we have (assuming no adblocking going on) an ad at the top of the page, the side of the page, the bottom of the page, and now (pop up) ads in the MIDDLE of the page! Only one more side left, Neo, ya gonna fill that up too?
For the record I haven't experienced anything out of the ordinary yet, hoping Firefox keeps its promise of no unrequested popups...

Petition them? PETITION THEM? You and I, all of us know that they won't listen no matter how many petitions we make! Haven't you seen the number of online petitions that have been made and failed in the past? They ALWAYS fail! They are IGNORED. I guarantee all of you that if Neopets is directly responsible for the popups, then they WILL NOT REMOVE THEM. If this really is what's going on, I refuse to put up with any more BS. Enough is enough. This would be a direct lie to the millions of players on Neopets, and it either stops with the banners or I'm outta here. Me and a good chunk of the rest of us. If you're familiar with Animal Farm, then you know exactly the kind of thing we're dealing with. It is, as Valerielundberg has said before, a mere slow desensitization process leading up to popups. I'm not having any more of it, and neither should you.

I won't quit PPT, though. If this gets bad enough, I hope it switches themes to some other site- Perhaps Runescape

I haven't got any pop-up all day...and I have neopets.com in my list of no-pop-up-blocking sites.

But, in the case there is pop-ups(which I trust the site to not have), shouldn't we send an e-mail about that to TNT instead of complaining? Borovan did listen to us when there were bad(you know what I mean) banners in the earliers banners stages.

By the way, off-topic but, since when did the banners at the bottom dissapear? It just says THIS PAGE CONTAINS PAID ADVERTISEMENTS, but don't show any banner ad anymore there, on any page.

This is probably the result of a particular flash ad.

Send a link to the screen cap to support emails, and also tell them precisely what ad is at the bottom of the page.

This may be detected as being from Neopets, but I'm sure this is the same thing as the steroid ad that I saw only once - the ad vendor didn't clear up all of the ads that they sent to Neopets, who didn't check them over before approving them, and thus they get garbage like this.

I hate the banners just about as much as you do ...
