Okay, I really need help with this.

Lately, when I turn on the computer and go to my name (Windows XP Professional), the folders for System32 and WINDOWS pop up. When I close the System32 one, it says "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and is shutting down" or whatever than annoying message says. So I close it, and Windows Explorer dies (the taskbar and all the icons on my desktop go away), but it soon comes back. However, when I close the WINDOWS one, Windows Explorer dies without a message and never comes back.

How can I make it not do this?
How can I bring back Windows Explorer after it died?

Hey all! *pokes C&T board people*

Here's my question: With the new game (castle battles) and dice escape, because they're 3D, they move extreeeemellly slloooowwwwllly.....

...Do ya'll have any recommendations for 3d graphics accelerators?
I want something that's fairly cheap, but'll get the job done right.

(It's more of an opinion question then a question question, but I assumed this would be the best place for it.)

My sound doesnt work... I tried re-installing the sound card, (MPU-401), but I already have the most updated driver... etc. etc.

Whats wrong? Windows ME by the way. :)

Hmm...you're sure you've plugged the speakers into the right hole? :P I know it's kind of a stupid question, but that had me confused for about five minutes when I got mine. :P

Yup, I've tried playing a music file and plug/repluging it in every hole.

Hmm...yet another stupid question (But necessary all the same)...your speakers are turned on and plugged in to the electric socket too, right?

Well...beyond that I'm not sure. The following would be the list of things I would go through:

1. Make sure that your sound card is listed under devices. If it's not, make sure it's in correctly.

2. Check the Device Profile (or whatever they call it. :P) to make sure that there isn't a problem with it.

3. Try your speakers on another computer. If they work, it's a problem with either your computer or your sound card. If they don't, it's a problem with your speakers.

4. Get new speakers and/or sound card.

5. Run around the room screaming.

I checked the device thingy, it said that it isnt working due to an "unknown" problem. -.-

But.. but.. does that mean I'll have no sound?

Well, if it's unknown, I can't tell you much.

I hate ME :p Worst operating system ever! But try looking on the net for sound card updates (mite not work with ME or something). I'd also recommend installing it again if you can!

Bah! Now my computer has this problem that it makes this wierd beeping sound during/right after startup! This is rather annoying, because when that happens, the computor freezes! :o

Am I over/under clocking my CPU or whatever?
