I imagine that doing this doesn't give you the bonuses and advantages that using the real sidebars gives you, does it?

Yeah, the halloween sidebar thingy is annoying, just add another filter:
Name: YellowBG to SidebarBG (TNT)
Matching Expression: <td class=tl align=center>
Replacement Text: <td class=tl align=center bgcolor=black>
This is for the halloween one only, if your background is pink, change bgcolor to pink... etc. I think it can also work if you have got an background image.

You won't be frozen. The Proxomitron only filters out and replaces the images for the sidebar with your own custom ones on your computer. The only way you can see it is with a proxy program that connects to your browser.
