Gah, I hate spam!! One of my email accounts is totally swamped by it (from this neat graphics program I downloaded once [GIMP turned out to be better though])and the stupid spamfilter's crap, so I've switched subscriptions over to my other e-mails and let it fill up. I'm going to see if this gets them to stop in about a year...

Like I give a flying smurf about that. And I don't want a "free" iPod in excange for 1,426 spams-a-day. Rather irritating to me. I think I will finally go get firefox, cuz I'll be smurfed if I'm going to pay for premium.

wise choice, my friend. premium is not worth it...i know from experience.

Not worth it premium...can I ask why? im interested in getting it

well, in my opinion, RE's that say "wow you've won 300 nps in the lottery!" every couple of weeks, and the free scratchcard once a week where you can win about the same amount of np or some other item (rarely) aren't worth real money. yes, the ads are blocked....but i have norton internet security now so that takes care of that. i'm sure there are others who may disagree with me, i'll let them tell you how they feel on their experience. :D

These finally convinced me to sign up for Firefox. I'm enjoying it so far. I'm loving the ad free site. For anyone else on the fence, go for it. It is worth 1/2 hour of messing with settings just to have neopets back the way we all love.

I just want the ad blocking...LOL just makes me wonder how long it will take for them to figure out changing language fixes it

Uh...dumb question, but how do you restart firefox? :P

I just closed all Firfox windows. Nothing really happened when I opened them again, so just follow the next step.

Edit: Blocking these adds is more satisfying than playing advert attack! It is fun to know that you're getting rid of them permanantly.

I just changed languages..works well :D

Once again, the link for configuring firefox and netscape:
http://www.granneman.com/webdev/browser ... configure/

That should take much less than half an hour ;)

As for this:
weatherbug
t-mobile cell phone - various versions
verizon wireless - various versions
optimum online
h & r block
free ipod offer : oscar version
outlook live
io tv
ask jeeves
classmates.com
vonage wireless - various versions
flashing you won free playstation one
msn search

Most Neopets users are under 18. In fact, I'd wager that half are under 16.

So of all of those ads, only the weatherbug, iPod, Ask Jeeves, playstation, and MSN ads hold any importance or relavance for the majority of neopians (sorry, but if you ain't payin' for your cell phone, it's your folks who need the ads, not you. Just sayin').

So of those 13 ads, only 5 are really targeted at users. And of those 5, two of them should only be installed with parental consent.

Nice. The top ads, I can deal with. But these? Waste of time.

You actually DO have to open and close Firefox. That's just how it works. You may not see a message but opening firefox forces it to install the extensions and themes.

Just do what it tell you to do. :P

I read something months ago on here, whereby ppl changed their country to "Antartica" as they have some thing going on there whereby Neo cant put ads on for that country.

I dont know if its true or not, but apparently at the time it was mentioned those who changed their country to Antartica saw no ads at all...

Im in Australia and dont see the bottom ones, but do have the top banner blocked with the IE fix mentioned here...

SS:)

Well, i'm still getting ads, and after blocking the individual servers, half the time I have go and block the i-frame as well to get rid of the white space. :x
