If this trend continues I will have to leave Neo along with probably a lot of others users as well. Are there any great sites similar to Neo out there?

A lot of people say Gaia online.

nani - petition signed. Like you said, it's probably like shooting a moose with a watergun, but hey, it's something.

Unfortunately, the T&C petition was only so helpful. There's still alot of grey areas/unwritten or poorly written rules. But it was a start.

dnm, I can tell you that I will slowly be closing my gallery and sending everything back to my main account. The gallery account will more than likely be closed (if I can bear to part with my pets) - but then, I doubt I'll go on it much given all the garbage you have to wade through and the slow loading pages, etc. just to try to get to pet central or the bank. The gallery closing also means the end of the free backgrounds, banners, lookups I have on offer for people to use on the site. That's alot of work down the drain. I do have a lab account where I adopt, zap and put up for adoption again. I haven't decided what to do about that one.

I'm so very disappointed in all of this.

My roommate barely even goes on the site anymore, she's ready to quit she's so disgusted. She hasn't yet because she wants to give me everything in her account (except the pets), but I told her that's not possible, since we share a computer. They can have guess the pregnant ads, "male enhancement" ads, system tray (scam) site ads, but we have to walk on eggs to not get frozen.

You mean other pet sites right? There are tons, just try searching on Google.

I'm having a sudden urge to get in my band uniform, grab my bassoon, and fly across the country to scold the TNT in my full glory.

EDIT: I would not suggest Gaia Online if you're under the age of 13 though...things can get nasty there (even with rules, their mods are spread too thinly).

Oooh, anyone here live near Glendale? xD
I would go myself if I didn't live all the way across the country. But I can just see a crowd of PPTers (with or without band uniforms) storming into the offices and demanding the ads removed.

The ads will never be removed no matter how many protests or petitions happen. They proved a long time ago that making money off the site means more to them than maintaining the quality and integrity of what they started. They never do anything on time, the new games they add are only there to regulate the economy(they all all ripoffs), and they are by far more focused on selling merchandise then keeping this site going strong.

Call me naive, but I put a good deal of trust in the lower-down staff. It's the corporate execs who are behind all this. There's a fine line between making a profit and making a killing (off of the site), and I'm sure Dohring is trying his hardest to cross that line.

That is not going to stop me, and the other players who care, from taking a stand.

My father asked a staff member at the Mall Tour what he thought of Dohring, since I spend so much time complaining about him. The response? "Er, we don't like him very much."

Priceless.

That's just sad. Seeing some users now trying to find a way out! If Neopets is smart they better do something about the problems with the users quick or they might sink like the Titanic. -__-

Actually, I think there were sponsor Battledome challengers at one point, waaaay back. Cartoon Network was sponsoring Neopets and you could fight characters from the Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory and a few other shows. I think they were changed into normal challengers afterwards, though.

Yeah, I believe that was when you could fight the six faeries and participate in site-organized tournaments too. I think most of them are retired now though.

I've only just got back into playing Neopets (whoo for the stockmarket), I've been playing on and off for four years and I've never seen such an uproar this huge in all my time playing.

Someone fill me in on this Dohring guy. o_O
