I don't have to read anything and I won't read anything this entire summer. I have only read like 2 books in my life that I wasn't forced to read. I HATE READING!! (yes, I am SHOUTING!)

Wow! 7 books! I'm going into English 4 next year and I have to read 4 books this summer. We get a choice of 7:
Pride and Predjuduce(sp?)
Jane Eyre
Cry Thy Beloved Country
She Stoops to Conquer
Grendel
Frankenstein
...and one other I can't remember at the moment
Yea, of course I choose the shortest ones. *cough*sparknotes*cough* are very helpful lol.

Nope, I would have if I stayed at my old school. I'm still going to read during the summer though.

Or you could choose the easiest ones. Jane Eyre was a very simple novel to read (and I loved it!). I know next to nothing about the others.

I don't have any summer reading! Yay! I feel so lucky, 7 books is a lot to read is 3 months! Although I do have a list of books which are recommended by the teachers, but since you don't have to read them, I don't really care.

We have a suggested list, but we don't HAVE to read the books in that list. Our library has a Summer Reading Program where we can read 25 books (picture books) or 5 hours (chapter books).

I never get anything assigned over the summer. It's great. I will, however, be reading books of my choice this summer.

I used to get summer reading and essay assignments for AP. Now that I'm in university, no one cares.

I read Frankestein last year in English class, and it was only then that I found out that Frankenstein was the scientist's name and not the monsters.
