dang it. Now I can't play when I'm at work.
My graveyard shifts are going to stink now. I can't install a banner blocker for my work computer, and so...yeah...might get in trouble for cruising around a website that has a possibility of spyware or banners leading to sites with spyware infestation (the reason why many geocity sites are blocked). Stinky....I play NQ2 while at work (for the record, I'm allowed to do this-my work is rather....dumb)

It's...a little worse than I thought. :\ But it's workable.
Also, I seem to be getting all Neopets ads. I suspect it's because I live in Canada, and not the US? If so... *small cheer*

Looks nice on there, but least I have the Halloween sidebar to comfort me. *shifty eyes* Or not. Banners seem more messy now.

They are the exact same banners . Magic of flash: you can change the size and it wont affect image quality since flash is a vector program.

I totally agree with you. This is going to cause serious problems for neurologically impaired players. At least when our user names, pets, and NPs were listed at the bottom of the sidebar, we could just scroll past the large banner ad. But now people will be forced to look at these god-awful flash ads in order to see how many NPs they have and which pet is active. And it's not like TNT hasn't been informed of disabled players' problems with the ads. It kind of seems like flagrant disregard that they now add all our user info at the top of the page now....
But I'm not surprised. After all, Neopets Inc. is owned by professional marketers....

Anyone who wants to block the ads should try the Mozilla Firefox browser. It's free, it's more secure than IE, it lets you import all your IE settings and bookmarks, and best of all, if you add the extension "AdBlock" it completely blocks the banner ads and ad buttons without affecting any other flash things (like games) on the site. I got it last week and love it. My yellow sidebar is ad-button-less. I do have a large chunk of white space at the top of the screen, but it's better than a flashing, computer-slowing ad.

I was thinking about moving to Firefox now. Anything to get rid of those ads (plus Firefox is pretty cool anyways (mad name )).
Anyway, I wonder idf Adblock will release another version of their software that will move the page up after an ad is blocked? *hopes*
The only thing that really bugs me about hte ads is how flashy they are and how much they move. They annoy the living bajeebies outta me. The size is also bad, but not horrible. Even so, I'd still rather Neo went back to the good ol days of no banner ads, and the old sidebar.

the white space is caused by an IFrame. Adblock can't really do much for it.

Firefox here, adblock here. And if you want the alt text to pop up when you mouse over an item in your inventory or a shop, you'll need this.
ETA: To easily block all the ads on Neopets, add these three filters to AdBlock:

Change your country to something other than the US. Maybe that will help?
