Strong women that sparkle..?

Thu Nov 11, 2004 12:47 am

Forgive me if this has been mentioned..

http://www.neopets.com/games/secretsparkle.phtml

I.. I.. Don't know what to think.

On one hand, I'm very happy that they're teaching children about these wonderful women. On the other hand..... "Strong women that sparkle"..??

The name is almost too cheesey....

That reminds me of a particular survey...

Anywho, who knew a game based on deodorant could be so educational?

What No Xena?! :o

Personally I think throwing in references to Mother Theresa in a deoderant commercial is idiotic!!!

How does Neopets not monitor content in their games like this. Besides it being stupid and somewhat offensive, it is religious content.

If they had an ad for Atkins diet would they have a question on Buddha? Or if raybands was a sponsor would they have a trivia question on Malcolm X?

Don't forget the spice girls, and Barbie! :P

Anyway, I guess I can see your point, coming2atvnearu, but.. it is in positive light...

They did have a question about Donna! XD

I thought it was really cheesy and a little over the top too. But I figured, it was easy and it gave me neopoints, so I'll grin and bear it.

For an amazing woman who led such an awe-inspiring life I doubt that smelling good was one of the things she looks back on in fondness.

I've got to agree. But, I'm sure she didn't stink, otherwise people wouldn't have wanted to be around her so much.

I'm sorry, but advertising deodorant on neopets is just...wrong, in my opinion. Cereal, video games, and upcoming movies I can understand but, really...deodorant?!

The marketing agents are OUT OF CONTROL. Seriously, someone's gotta do something about this.

That is about the most hilarious thing I've seen in a good while. Wow, I'm just speechless this is so hysterical!

Actually, this game has been around for awhile (check out my post on it: http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... kle#155220 ).

My guess is that Neo finally realized that people other than little kids play this game. Which is why we now have banners for classmates.com, hooked on phonics and ipods. Pretty soon they will be advertising hondas and pledge furniture polish.

It is a fact that the fastest growing population of internet gamers is women 30 and over. All of those stay at home moms have to find something to do with their time. And, my guess, is that a women's deodorant ad might just appeal to those women.

And, actually, the game isn't too bad. Granted, you have to deal with the stupid questions about Brittany and those scantily clad Olympic volleyball champions, but there are a few good ones in there as well. As a woman, I think it is kind of nice having a game dedicated to strong women in history. And, a game that actually requires some thought process--not just pressing the mouse over and over.

Also, it gives out great nps for the amount of time required to play--as long as you know something about "great women who sparkle." ;)

I don't understand whats so wrong with deoderant on a site with kids. Everybody uses it.

I love the part where it says that the women are not endorsing the deodorant...

on a side note...OLD'D!!
