An Icy Shelf, to honour my first Username (literally icyshelf, which has been frozen since 2002) as well as the dead.

Wheel of Knowledge prize - Lab Map Access!

It would SO ROCK!

Thu Nov 04, 2004 5:14 am

Um...the level and SDB things...how about folders? You know...like email folders...except it's like SDB. Also: another card game! There's already Cheat and Idiot(Go! Go! Go!) and Poker....and blackjack...so bridge or deuce? I bet nobody knows what I'm talking about. Who cares.

Place: Bartering Place? Same as trading post, except it's not real people. Kind of like how it is in .hack games. Many unreal people and you have to bid either a quantity of certain item(s) and no np. Or you can get some items by rarity. Like 10 99 rarity items *insert item here*.

Thu Nov 04, 2004 5:28 am

This is regarding neohome. I hope they'll make the items show up. Some of them can't seem to show no matter how i refresh. :x

And i hope they'll let us see the interior of the room before i build instead of small pictures representing the types. :) I don't want to have to demolish the room because the interior looks horrible after wasting nps on them.

Just in case some of you are too lazy to check the topic stampsyne mentioned, here's what's been said:

stampsyne wrote:Cleo- I dunno if "Account Disabled' means the same as "Account Frozen"

xjox- Actually, your Tiki Armor issue spurred some wonderful debates. I have formed a few suggestions lately such as people being banned from neopets for a set time instead of frozen, reports of behavior being posted in thier User Lookups, and that scammers should have to pay restitution as well as a fine.

We could call it Neocourt!

Neomail reads: "You have been called to duty as a jury member. Please report immediately to Neocourt!"

Would that not ROCK!

Think of the effort saved if staff did not have to deal with frozen people. All the facts are given to the jury members (user name NOT used to protect the innocent) and the jury votes on if the person gets banned, for how long, restitution amount, fine amount, or for the truly EVIL ... freezing! Account in limbo during deliberations.

*SIGH* Daydreaming.

Very, uber cool. Dunno if it's been mentioned on your board or not stampsyne, but what if users could send applications to TNT to join the court, and if the staff approve, then the users are set and can be called to make decisions.

Since they're so keen on merchendice, they should make some of Neopets foods into real foods (mostly the candy).

I find Neopets fair in the most part but my suggestions:

* A limit to buying from Neopet Shops. Maybe 1 purchase per hour that way more people could buy from the official shops.

* A team of Support Staff that's only job is to handle frozen + inaccesible account situations. Enough of that automated garbage. When was the last time automated responses actually seemed helpful? Put a check on the Freeze bots, many times they freeze for stupid reasons.

*Do something about mass reporting. Nothing worse than being frozen because the other person hates you and gets all his/her friends to report you too.

* Temporary bans instead permanent freeze would be nice for some situations, but not necessary if cases of confusion could be sorted out. Neither will ever happen :|.

* Release more cove weapons!! I want me a Battle Plunger again.

* The rest are minor nuisances but I could live with it. Unfreeze my account. :x

I think most people here want that last part. I agree with what most people have said about having a temporary ban for most crimes, but I think if the person was caught red-handed intentionally violating the rules (like TNT seeing a post by him asking for passwords), freezing should still be in effect.

Whoa whoa whoa! I don't think the idea about having 1 purchase per hour is very good. I mean, then that would make games MORE profitable than restocking. There are quite a lot of people, myself included, who buy loads of items worth less than 30k. If you put in a 1 purchase per hour limit, then restocking would only be profitable if you're really skilled at getting unbuyables, coz otherwise, it's not even worth considering. Sorry, I just find that idea kinda... pointless.

Other than that, I like all your other ideas. I remember there being quite a lot of topics about the freezing issue. And I agree. Get rid of that freeze, and make it bans, so that the person gets a punishment fitting to the crime, rather than just saying, "You posted about God, so we'll freeze you along with the rest of you dirty cheaters, scammers and rule breakers."

One per hour may be a little too severe, but like I said, I think:
rejuvinate wrote:The other one (and sorry restockers ;)) make the difference between people that can restock to earn np, and those that only have games to earn np a bit more fair.

For example, if people can only send their scores for each game three times per day, then people should only be able to restock at each shop 3 times per day.

I know that idea would annoy a lot of the restockers, but some of them can earn THOUSANDS of np for one item, and I can only ever earn one thousand for one game play :P

Thu Nov 04, 2004 10:53 am

A fair compromise would be that instead of restricting restockers, give gamers a few more benefits. Eg: Make the daily limit 5 instead of 3 scores per game. Make each game give out more np. Make the maximum np 3000 instead of 1000.

That way, gamers will have a lot less to complain about. Restricting restockers wouldn't be such a smart idea, since so many people buy dozens, even hundreds of things from the same shop every day. Imagine the 3 a day limit at the chocolate or toy shop

Yeah, plus anyway, restockers still have the RS Ban if they restock too much, so the best solution would be giving gamers more chances to make more np.

Hee hee, I guess you can see where each of our biases lie? ;)

teh0mega wrote:(...)Restricting restockers wouldn't be such a smart idea, since so many people buy dozens, even hundreds of things from the same shop every day. Imagine the 3 a day limit at the chocolate or toy shop  (...)

That's my point actually :) People CAN buy hundreds of things from a shop each day - and it doesnt take as long as playing games either :) (Well, a heap of the games, on my connection speed, take around 4 minutes just to load, let alone play :P)

It would give people with slower connections a slightly more fair shot at actually restocking anything also, and would *force* restockers to rethink, instead of just grabbing anything and everything that makes them a bit of profit :)

Edit: I wouldnt say no to upping the limit per play, and plays per game either ;) I just think limiting restocking, to match the limit on gameplaying, would actually be *more* fair ;)

<RANT>

I'd like them to make a really EASY version of the main rules. Thats in BOLD type and you have to see it before you finish creating your account.

With written on it on the first rule...

1: DO NOT Abuse the reporting function. Reporting someone for no reason is a FREEZABLE OFFENCE YOU PUNY LITTLE WORMS!!! DIE DIE!!!

Then they could actually go about warning those people for actually doing that...
Because many kids have said to me "VM REPORTED!!!"

Then a million others will say... "What did he do??"

</RANT> :D
