People on the Neoboards are saying that they open randomly when your pet plays with the bag.

I'm guessing they're saying that to try and lower the number of people after the cheap ones on the shop wizard. I just played with one 50 times, and it didn't open, and I'm guessing it'd have far more than a 2% chance of opening if that were the case.

iconoplast, I agree. I have seen a few boards where people are saying they got the bags to open, one person said they got 10k and a bag of halloween sweets. Well we kind of took the wind out of that person's sails. Hmmmph!
Oh and beware the price switchers - yes that's happening, just like at advent. People are putting the bags in their shop really cheap, then trying to switch the price much higher when you go to buy.
Me? I have the 4 we can collect and I did buy 6 more
... Why? because once we can open them, I remember how much fun it was last year playing with my pets opening the bags. I know, it's probably mostly the same kind of thing as last year, but it is fun

Unless there's a chance of getting a Halloween Paint Brush or one of the new halloween costumes from the bags, and its confirmed by a reliable source, I'll probably open 1, shove 1 in a gallery, sell 1, and put the other in my SDB until next year.

my sister got and eye of mortog instead of a bag witch was pritty good cause they are worth about 100 to 110k

I hate that price switching trick -- I got stung really bad 2 Christmases ago with that one. I am much more careful now to check the confirmation box before I click on it.
Everconfused, I did the same -- collected my 4 bags, and bought another 6. I'll let my pets open a couple of the bags when they activate the 'open' function, and keep the rest of them in my SDB for Halloween treats to give away next year. It's tempting to sell them, but I have a lot of fun opening them to see if there is a swell surprise!
I learned several years ago when I was frozen to always remember that Neopets is just a game. Nowadays, I do a lot of stuff just for fun, unlike my previous account when I was obsessed with making NPs. I scratch all my scratchcards, spin the wheels, and do the little things I used to scrimp on.

Lol, you scrimp on scratching scratchcards and spinning wheels? They were my main way of earning nps when I couldn't restock.

LOL, I don't think I explained that very clearly. What I meant to say is that I never used to spend many Neopoints on things that were fun or frivolous. Nowadays I indulge myself often, like actually scratching the scratchcards instead of reselling them. As you point out, though, the scratchcards often give me a little financial boost, especially the 10,000 np payouts! I also pay the absurd amount to take my pets to concerts -- I like their moods to stay "delighted"!!

I earn more np by scratching the scratchcards then reselling them. The reselling profit is so pathetic that I'd rather try my luck.

The best bet is that it will be the same as last year, maybe a chance for a Ghost Paint Brush, or some variation like that, but they will rise in price because people are still collecting them. Once the creation of them ceases the price will definitely rise. That's the way it was last year, for the three hours they were available they were selling for around 5-7K, but once it struck midnight and you could not get them anymore, they were skyrocketing. I doubt it will shoot up as fast since a lot more people will have the chance to get their's.
