Well, three of your comments are basically saying the same thing. Yes, it's going to slow down people a bit. But not by much.

One of your comments is your own personal opinion. I personally think that the banner is very cool and appealing, not ugly.

Only slightly better, since it's also the size of the thing being called into account. Having regular images up there wouldn't take as much time to load, but would still be a pain in the butt on lower res.

i think adam said that it's only a tiny bit bigger than the old stuff.... i dont remember exactly, it was in this thread somewhere.
but then i'm not using a low res monitor, so i dont know what you're seeing.

Well, it's official ... I just saw a ss of a lookup - background, sidebar and banner. What the new topbanner does to your banner if you're using one is just UGH. I thought I highly disliked the new topbanner for more than one reason - now I know I definitely hate it.

I'd be interested in seeing how the new top bar works with a dial up modem (like mine). I'm already finding that games play better on my friends DSL so to have a second disadvantage would be disappointing.

That said I can cope with the appearance (from what I've seen on the screenies) as long as it doesn't affect the ability for us to have custom user lookups - Mine is at: http://www.neopets.com/randomfriend.phtml?user=firebabe__.

I believe Adam's big surprise may be related to a link to view all the avatars another user has ... I hope it is as that would be something I would use a lot!

I would be interested in being a Beta tester as well if at all possible.
