guide site:

there is no specific walkthrough, but if you read the boss strategy guide, and read the maps w/ the commentary, its pretty much self explanatory.
unless your doing nq1, which in fact there is a walkthrough and maps.

Use both. Let mipsy cast group haste on first turn, then make everyone drink potion. Recast the group haste spell once in a while not to be left out of the rain when the potions wear out.
Slowing potions I just throw continously at Terask until one hits in the very beginning?
Yep
Does Velm's group shield last forever? I've never seen it go away, but I assume it can't be indefinite. O.o Likewise for Mispy's Group Haste.
Nope, neither lasts forever. They last about 40-60 game seconds
And since I've never -ever- used haste/slowing potions, I think I'll just use the assumption that they each last for around 25 seconds. (Er, is that too long or too short?)
Too short. The potions have approximately the same duration as spells.
Finally, the general strategy is for Rohane, Talinia, and Mispy to attack while Velm heals, and occasionally throw damage potions?
I find that Talinia can also throw potions. See what works
Wow, thanks!
Also, myworld607, try
http://www.geocities.com/neoquest_2 . This site is fantastic as well.

Well i'm level 27 now and still in the lost desert. It's getting easier to level now but it's still pretty hard.

You still fight monsters, but they don't give you even 1 EXP.

On the subject of levels, my Mipsy always falls behind the others by half to one level. Near the end of the game, she is about one level behind Rohane, so I have to fight monsters still just to train her (the others are maxed out). This is because she faints often in fights and won't get the full experience others get. Does anyone have the same problem?

thats the problem i had in my normal game qanda.
if you let mipsy faint in battle, and continue with it, she will gain only a minimal amount of exp the others gain. therefore, after a few battles and she faints alot, she may very well be way behind your other members.
the only remedy for this is to flee from a fight when mipsy has fainted, no matter where you are and ressurect her. always carry ressurect potions around junst incase she faints.

In my normal game Mipsy was AHEAD in levels

Now it's Rohane, Tailina, Mipsy, then Velm on my evil game.

I once spent quite some time recording the amount of damage done to Rohane (at the same level, by the same variety of monster) normally, with Velm's Group Shield up and with Mipsy's Damage Shields up.
Velm's Group shield does indeed reduce both the damage per hit and the percentage of hits. Mipsy's Damage Shield, however, does jack as far as monsters hitting our charaters is concerned. The name "shield" is somewhat misleading -- it deals damage only, it does not prevent damage to characters.
I think Damage Shields is a more useful skill then it's given credit for, especially vs. bosses and in Faerieland, where there seem to be quite a few creatures who use combat focus. This is especially true in Insane, where the very strongest creatures in Faerieland have 600 hp each and battles can last a long time.
I'm playing Evil again right now and I think I might split my extra points between GDD and Damage Shield. Damage Shield is more practical against bosses but GDD is handy for knocking points off of low-HP opponents and I vaguely recall that it made things less tedious when I was playing on Normal. I never seem to have enough leftover points to make Group Haste seem really worth it, and when I'm fighting bosses I just use potions, so why bother?
Edit: I've never had that problem with Mipsy, as she always seems to start a little ahead on XP for me. But I've never had a big a problem with Mipsy Death -- I just pour a lot of healing potions into her. :-)

I beat it on Evil and I only got the tooth.

Better luck next time, I guess.

I just beat Silicast at level 31. I can't wait to get Velm

Velm = Lifesaver. No pun intended.
On another note, how do you guys approach Combat Focus? I'm not talking about Rohane, I'm talking about the enemies (grundonoils, bionic cybunnies, hearts of nox, etc). I've found it to be really annoying when they focus their energies as it takes twice as long.
I've resorted to mesmerizing them and killing off the others one by one but it depends on who gets the turn first. =\ Any suggestions?

Yes, Velm's groupsaver saves you potions. But I'm soo busy spending points in his other skills, his innates are way behind. Thank god TNT invented bonuses.
I don't like COmbat Focus at all. Although I got quite attached to it on normal mode, when I got a sword with a +2 Combat Focus bonus off a boss in the Lost Desert northern part. So I got quite attached to it, but didn't last for long. His Damage Number decreased, but his defence skyrocketed. I don't like it though. Mesmerizing them is probably the best idea.

After debating with myself I decided to go after Nox. I'm currently on the 7th level, and level 50 - I'm aiming for at least 51 before attacking him.
Does anyone have any tips or strategies? I'm aware of the fact that he heals a lot already
