on the subject of prizes, hope this isnt too off topic, what's the value of all the different prizes, currently? I'm about to finish on normal, when I can be bothered, then I'm gonna get going properly on evil.

I simply HATE explaining this. Maybe I should just write it all down...

Normal:
Tailinas Whitting Knife: 15k
Rohanes Armour Polish: 7k
Mipsys Charm Bracelet/Velms Healing Potion: I dunno...under 10k that's all. JUST STOP ASKING ME! I dunno everything...

Evil:
Halo of Devilpuss: 375k
Tooth of Terask: Somewhere around 50k...meh.
Scuzzys Comb: 900k
Ramtors Spellbook: 1.2 million.

Insane:
Sword of Apockalypse: 2.2 million.
Staff of Righteous Fury: 1.3 million
Wand of Reality and Bow of Destiny: 4 million.

I've at the enterance of Zakharykh's pyramid. I won't be beating Chapter 3 before school starts again...with MOTAS. Meh.

*dances* I just beat the Four Faeries - they were easy, it was just a matter of beating them one by one. They only got me into the yellow twice, but I healed in time ;)

I'm debating whether or not to go after Hubrid Nox - he provides good exp/weapons, but he's a pain and a half to beat.

I never go for him. Not after what happened on normal.

Good job! I'm still at Zakharukh's Pyramid enterance....I'm just so scared I'll lose my position/location because I can't beat it all in one day. I'll need to gain three levels in this entire pyramid (2 on the ground floor, 1 on the second floor then sneak to Anubits). As i was saying, I don't have all this time anymore because school holidays are over (tomorrow is the last day of freedom...next holidays are for 7 weeks so I could beat he whole of NQII then! Back to school...eek!

I'm playing Neoquest II on Normal right now, and I'm currently at the city of Lakeside. But I don't have enough gold pieces to get the upgrades. Would I be okay if I just skipped them or should I fight a bit more and get enough gold?
Also, at what level should I enter the desert?

Sat Oct 02, 2004 11:52 am

get all the upgrades. Don't forget that you'll get about 1/3 of the cost at least from selling your old weapons etc

Sat Oct 02, 2004 1:09 pm

I only get about half the upgrades. The others I get from the bosses.

If there's a significant difference between the damage/defence of the weapon/armour I'm currently using and the one for sale (say, more than 5), I purchase the armour. Otherwise, I don't bother.

I always egt all the upgrades, unless I have better weapons/armour from bosses/monsters with bonuses.

I had that problem at Lakeside on evil and normal. The forests, hills, and plains between White River and Lakeside isn't long enough for us to gain enough gold.

Once you get to evil mode, it's acually rather easier because you can get armour/weapons from normal monsters! I got a staff of sacrifice (acually Anubits) in the north Lost Desert, and a dual-cam recuerve bow (acually Gerban II) in the Valley of Ancient Kings.

same. i had to spend so much time in lakeside gaining gold, that the monsters were only giving me 15 or less exp per battle.

Well...I was probably underleveled at level 12-13 so they were still giving me some good EXP :D

and the distance from lakeside to seaside is too far :( ah, more gold!

Just train in the forests around Lakeside. That way you'll get enough gold and possibly be a level or two higher than what's recommended for the desert/Phorofor.

Anyway, I just beat Hubrid Mox at level 48. It wasn't too hard, just annoying.

Progress: I'm working through Akhten-Ka extremely slowly because of my insistence to level up higher then I need to. :( I'm nearing level 44.

Does anyone else think NQ1 is better than NQ2? Not in rewards, but in the fun factor?

Nope. NQII PWNS ALL!

Hoyl crap! 44 should be in Von Roo's Castle! You can sneak all of the chapter 3!

I found NQ 1 to be boring, mainly because leveling up was much more tedious than in NQ 2. NQ 2 has different worlds, abilities, and characters which makes it more enjoyable for me.
